I came here with my relatives and most of my family members to eat dinner here celebrating my cousin's graduation ceremony at the Cal Poly college at San Luis Obispo that started on Sunday 6/12/2022 around the noon time. We ate our dinner here and we dined in at the night time starting at 8:30 P.M. on the night of Saturday 6/11/2022. The salsa is very rich and tangy and pairs best with the Mexican entrees, the beans were good when they pair with the garlic bread, tri tip steak, pork chops and lamb chops. I ordered the oak grilled chicken breast salad here and I recommend the garlic bread, the sandwiches, the fries, BBQ ribs, the pork chops, the lamb chops, grilled salmon, grilled artichokes, asparagus, and the different seasoned and flavors of the tri tip steaks here that every dine in customers that come here to eat must try. However and sadly the first and the last time I had eaten here, I had seen no individual dine in customers who ate here and did order the tri tip steak or any type of beef steak here to eat. When I did eat here and dine in with my family, cousins and relatives, I had seen no one that had ordered the tri tip steak or any type of beef steak served here. I had seen mostly dine in customers ordered the pork chops, lamb chops, barbecue items, sandwiches, burgers, fries, seafood, salads, Mexican food, grilled artichokes, grilled asparagus, garlic bread, beans and salsa. (On the night of Saturday 6/11/2022, during dinner time when I visited here, the dine in customers had ordered almost everything on the menu except for the tri tip steak of any type of beef steak...

I've been to the swiss numerous of times and the food is always good that's why we continue to come back, BUT tonight I have never been so disappointed in the service my team and I had at our department christmas dinner. First off we were never told we had a 2 hour limit which makes sense on why we were rushed from the moment we sat down. By the time we got our food literally 5 min later the waiters were coming around with to go boxes and basically telling us to wrap it up so rude we had no time to even enjoy our meal. It was so bad that the waiter was asking for one person to pay and they hadn't even finished their food. After we were rushed to pay we were told we had 5 min to basically leave because they had another party to accommodate. I was speechless we had to speed open our gift exchange due to the last waiter telling us we had 5 more min till we met our 2 hour limit that was never told to us in the beginning. If we would have known that we one would have planned accordingly but that's no excuse were all paying costumers and to be rushed and basically kicked out was the worst service I've ever witnessed. Perfessionally what they should have done was find another area for us to finish up our christmas dinner at least but to say to basically get up and leave was uncalled for. Come up with a better system and train staff to not make costumers feel like they have to chew their food in 5 min because it time to pack it up already. Your buisness just lost 11 great costumers after...

My wife and I visited Santa Maria Friday June 27, 2025.I grew up here but now reside in the Bay area. I "used" to give gift cards from here for Christmas to my family. My wife ordered her usual Prime Rib sandwich which never seems to disappoint her. I also ordered my usual Rib Eye sandwich. I like Wren Pompeo who was here a month or so ago had the same experience with the most pathetic ribeye sandwich I have ever seen ($37.00). I noticed this on my last visit here as well but I thought it was just an anomaly. I have also noticed that the meat quality has not been as good as it was before the fire a few years ago. I also had the Caesar salad which was nice and cold, however it had the tiniest bit of dressing. I do not understand why so many people still flock here when the other choices here like Nipomo BBQ, Shaw's, Jocko's and even the strip mall restaurant BBQ Land are available. We did visit Nipomo BBQ and BBQ Land while we were also here. The quality, portions and pricing were tough to beat and we will visit them again on our next return. It's too bad because The Swiss used to be top notch but no more in my opinion. It's too bad the owner's and manager's don't respond to the reviews as most concerned establishments do! Good luck and I wish you the best. I will continue to scan your reviews and "maybe" one day we will try The...

This goes against popular belief, however I wasn't a fan. The service was excellent, that wasn't my problem, my problem was the actual food. Granted I could have gone on an off night, but I won't be trying it again. We made the 1 hour drive, because so many people were raving about "The Swiss"! Ok, so here goes my food experience at The Swiss. I ordered the Filet Mignon and Lobster tail $65. My steak came over cooked and the lobster tail was also over done and chewy. The flavor on my overcooked steak was good, but because of the over cook it had a grainy texture. Not what a filet should be, but My husband who ordered the 10oz Filet Mignon was bland, no seasoning, but cooked perfect. We ordered the Grilled Artichoke for an appetizer and that was completely water logged. The sauce was yummy. The Santa Maria style beans were bland and the garlic bread was smashed and flavorless and the fettuccine alfredo was like a brick. So all in all I wasn't happy. Like I said it could have been an off night, but taking the chance on another 1 hour drive to try it a second time will not be happening.

My first visit to The Swiss, and I'm a fan. My servers were Sandy and Sonia, and they were awesome! Amazing service and wonderful food. All meat is cut and aged inhouse. The steak fries and onion rings were worth the visit alone. My entre was served with locally sourced Pintoquito Beans... delicious! I went with salad over the soup. Fresh spring mix with a very nice Bleu Cheese dressing. My steak was a perfect medium. The flavor is so good you're not going to want to use any steak sauce on these meats. Definitely a recommend on this one.

The food was really good. My grilled chicken and mozzarella sandwich on ciabatta bread was tender and had lots of flavor. It was supposed to come with pesto, which I don't care for, so they were happy to leave it off. Still had great flavor. Nice choice of sides to go with sandwiches. Enjoyed the iced tea. Interior lighting could be a bit brighter. My friend's chef's salad was beautiful and comes with turkey, ham and tri-tip. The dressing is homemade.
