I stopped by to grab a quick bite and a drink on a Sunday night. I sat at the bar and waited to get served. It took a while to put in my order no biggie. I ordered 2 steak tacos and a margarita. The tacos were nice and big but no flavor, the margarita was ok. Chips and dip was excellent. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because when I requested for my bill I was told that that my bill was $30. I asked the gentleman why and he said I ordered 2 tacos And a drink. I was like of course I ordered that. I asked how much the tacos were he said $18 dollars. I asked him you want to tell me 2 tacos cost 18 dollars he said yes without flinching. đ logically you'd think he'd be like that's weird. But noooo I guess common sense ain't common no more. I have eaten in many great Mexican restaurants but never have I have paid $18 for 2 mediocre tacos. I was very applaud but in my nature I did not want to argue so I asked for the receipt to pay my bill and this is where things changed. He became very hesitant and went to call the other waiter. With my little Spanish from my understanding they messed up. I was behind the counter as I watched them scramble to fix it. A phone call was made blah blah blah đ. After 10 minutes the gentleman fixing the error comes over apologized and offered to refund my money. I am not sure if it was an honest error or whatever it was. I was disappointed with the lack of honesty. I actually love the other Los Molcajetes Bar & Grill off Montecito Blvd so I expected a similar experience. Unfortunately not I will not be...

From the moment we sat down, we were greeted with oven-fresh chipsâstill warm and perfectly crisp. Paired with their house-made sauces, which pack just the right amount of spice and flavor, it was a strong start that set the tone for the rest of the meal.
The calamari was a standoutâtender, perfectly seasoned, and fried to golden perfection. Itâs not something you always expect to be done right at a place known for tacos, but they nailed it.
And speaking of tacos: heavenly. Each bite was a burst of flavor, from the savory fillings to the fresh garnishes. Whether you go for carne asada, carnitas, or fish, you canât go wrong.
To top it off, the house margaritas were absolutely deliciousâbright, balanced, and not overly sweet. Easily the best Iâve had in a long while.
Service was friendly, the vibe was relaxed, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. This is the kind of place you return toâand...
Read moreWe are new to Santa Rosa and wanted to find a good Mexican restaurant. This is it! The interior is clean and beautiful. It is obvious how much care went into the decoration. The menu is huge...so many wonderful options. I got my favorite chili verde and it was tasty and delicious with lots of sauce. The dish came with rice and beans and a small salad with their house-made vinaigrette which is delicious. My husband wanted to get the Chili Rellenos, but they use flour and not corn starch and he can't have gluten. The server was super nice about it, and he got the carne asada dish instead.
We loved the delicious margaritas and they bring out three different kinds of salsa with chips when you arrive...a salsa verde, a roasted chili salsa and pico de gallo. They were all delicious.
We're glad we found Los Molcajetes. There is a TV in the bar area in case you can't miss a game. Staff was friendly and helpful. We went on a Wednesday night, so I think the weekend you might need to call ahead for a reservation (if...
