Oishii Sushi Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Santa Rosa

Very disappointing. Just went today and the sushi is not good quality at all. The tuna and salmon are not fresh, tasted like refrigerator and very rubbery, did not melt in your mouth like fresh salmon would. The gyoza was stale and tasted like freezer. They put a ton of sauce on the sushi (spicy mayo and “eel sauce”). The eel sauce is not even eel sauce. They don’t give you ginger and wasabi. I ordered tamago and it was the worst tamago I’ve ever had, it tasted like artificial egg and it smelled bad. Some of the sushi seemed to have sprinkles of chamoy or something else similar to it. I went in and ordered, nothing too fancy just a 3 item dinner combo and after ordering i was told this would be 40 to 45 min wait(which was fine). After 50 min i go back up to the door only to be told 5 more min. After another 10 min wait, i go back in was told another 20 minutes. So an hour and 35 min past (many eye rolls and whispers from employee to employee after mentioning i was told the wait was 45 min long)and i finally get my food. I understand that it was a Friday that I ordered on and maybe that is my fault, but i will probably not order from there again especially if I am in a hurry since this was the wait and the dinning room wasn't even opened. Absolutely terrible experience here. We live close by and come here semi frequently so we've come to expect decent quality of food and service. On our most recent visit, we got neither of those. The fish had a strong odor and tasted 'off' compared to what we're used to. We only ate a couple pieces of our all-you-can eat order before calling the staff over and bringing the issue to their attention. They made us sit for 10 minutes before coming back with the bill and telling us we had to pay for the order anyway. We will not be coming back.
