I really hate to rate this place at one star because I love it! But right now I am so extremely disappointed with the way I was treated. I have been a regular customer here for at least 15 years possibly more. However due to a short term special diet that I am on I need to watch very carefully what and how much I eat for awhile. My family and I are accustomed to eating here at least once a week. I didn't want to stop. So I called them and very nicely stated that I needed some information on the quantity of ingredients they used because of this special diet I am on. I said I know you are probably too busy now but could I call back like five or ten minutes before closing when they are not so busy to ask some questions. I was very specifically told by the woman on the phone, "no because we are ALWAYS busy." But then she said, "maybe I can help you now." When I started asking questions she proceeded to hang up on me. Wow, I realize she didn't even know who I was and most likely didn't realize we are a family that spends thirty plus dollars a week in there. Regardless it really shouldn't matter if I was a regular customer or someone new that could have become a long time customer such as myself. I won't be back. It's out of our way anyway. I only kept going there out of loyalty and we liked the food. Instead I will go to and recommend the rest of my family and friends go to Los Arcos in Marlow Shopping Center. They are just as good and in fact actually have bigger super burritos...
Read moreGreat-tasting food for a good price, though the service and attitude are very uneven. Sometimes you'll get one of the women who pay attention to your order and bring it to your table with a smile, and sometimes you'll get a grumpy-looking lady who will, in whatever way possible, mess up your order (by writing the wrong item down, or making it a "to go" order when you ordered it for dining in). I'm not saying she does that on purpose; she most likely just isn't paying attention. You just have to be vigilant and be ready to correct what she writes down when she takes your order.
But I don't go for the service or the attitude; I go for the tasty, tasty food. The carnitas taco is crammed with meat and covered in cilantro; squeeze lime over it and you have heaven on a plate. Their carne asada tacos are also delicious. Their taquitos were a revelation to me--I never knew taquitos were supposed to taste that good. Their burritos are good, though not spectacular--I prefer Los Arcos' burritos. I'm not sure how Ochoa's quesadilla qualifies as a quesadilla and not a huge, flat burrito, but it is tasty.
All in all, Ochoa's is an excellent place to dine if you are on a budget and you want your dollars to provide lots of...
Read moreOchoa's is a must on our Taco Tuesday routine and even on other nights when we feel like really good food at a decent price.
I get Carne Asada and Al Pastor tacos, and sometimes I'll get an Asada burrito. Both meats are well seasoned and simmered to a perfect tenderness. The tacos are a really big and full of meat and cilantro. Extremely flavorful, they come with really good grilled onions and jalapeños, a perfect addition that a lot of other restaurants overlook.
Ochoa's is a great little place, even better because its walking distance and we'll continue to go back and support good food and a small business.
