Sazón has unfortunately disappointed me, I took my mother there, told her how great of a experience I had in the past. I raved about the food and the service.... But tonight I was proved wrong.

My mom and I ordered food and not to exaggerate, we waited 40 to 45 minutes ( was not very busy ) to receive the food. We kept looking at plates being delivered too other tables. (still amazed on the presentation of how good plates looked)

Finally I started to get slightly irritated as our food still had not been delivered to our table. A man, I believe manager or perhaps owner, (not sure what he was) said he would check on our food but didn't come to inform us of the delay until I made a signal to our server to ask what was taking so long.. the man was busier getting the gals next to us their birthday dessert rather than communicating with us about the delay. He over heard me asking our server and said it's coming sir it's coming! (As he padded my shoulder) like that was going to fix the issue! I was very put off and replied to him yes but why is it taking so long. Finally our food was delivered and for my surprise my food was not made how I had ordered it.

As a person that is in the food service industry, I expected an explanation or little to say an apology at least for such a long wait. Usually restaurants will fix their error when a situation like this happens! (Comp an item or reduce the bill) I want to believe our ticket was lost or miss placed but I won't know because nothing was said to us. I am not sure if they could read my facial expressions but I was definitely not happy with the situation. My overall experience today saddens me to say I will not be coming back and won't refer anyone to Sazón either. I strongly believe tips are earned,...

I walked in with 0 experience with Peruvian cuisine so I did not know what to expect. For some reason I did not pick up on on the word 'deli ' on any of the results online.

I was there before the lunch time crowd, so I had the whole place to myself. It is big with plenty of room between tables to maneuver. Just enough lighting to be comfortable and not overly bright like at Panda Express or other such establishments. A few seconds after stepping in I heard a voice to my left. I looked over and saw smiling young lady welcoming me quite sincerely. I quickly scanned the board and requested a suggestion as a first-timer.

So a sandwich it was, the Chicken Ranchero, and a Lagunitas beer from the cooler. The sandwich was great. The chicken was moist and had a surprising amount of flavor to it. Unfortunately there were no side items to go with it. I forgot I was at a deli and neglected to ask for any. Luckily I happened to pick up a bag of salt and vinegar chips along with my initial order so at least I had that to munch along with. I was really looking forward to a pickle spear or something. At least the sandwich pick had a bit of extra red cellophane to make it look festive.

I'd totally go back to try out the other sandwiches. I'm still wondering what part of the experience was...

This is one of THE BEST RESTAURANTS in town, hands down, and personally on my top five list! I love sauces, and Sazón shows mad love to sauce-loving enthusiasts like myself with EVERY DISH... My favs / recommendations: the taqueños (do NOT skip these!), the empanadas, the calamari, the chicken wings, the fish tacos, and, OMG, do NOT miss the sangria--red OR white--they are BOTH OUTSTANDING! The half chicken entree is delicious and is enough to share with another person. Their soups and chowders are always on point. And their incredible dishes are made with fresh, local ingredients. For Thanksgiving a couple years ago, we actually got 2-3 orders of several different dishes from Sazón and served them up [at home] tapas-style... There were only 6 of us that year, but everyone absolutely L❤️VED the food, all of us were stuffed to the max, and somehow there were even some leftovers, in true Thanksgiving day fashion! I've dined here more than half a dozen times, and every time has been an amazing meal and a fantastic dining experience!!!...

Not sure how we missed this hidden treasure for so long, but now that we found it, we will be back! Three of us came to celebrate birthdays post covid vaccination and found the restaurant to be taking covid precautions with widely spaced seating indoors and outside as well. Even cook staff were wearing masks. Before we tasted the food, I worried that the menu and the specials may have been a bit ambitious. There were so many choices. We selected several varied items to share from appetizers and ceviches and also ordered Arroz con Mariscos (which was more like a risotto than a paella). Every dish was prepared creatively with ingredients that added unique flavors and each was presented with an artistic touch. Delicioso!!! Thank you, Juan, for the friendly chat and for being our food guide. I could write pages on each of the dishes, they were all great. I could have taken pictures of each dish, but many have already been posted. Instead, I will post the sign in the window that says it all. 💜

Astounding find! Possibly the best Peruvian food you can have without the journey south. Started with the Mango ceviche which was wonderfully tangy and lightly spicy, the shrimp fresh and flavorful. The special fisherman’s stew had an amazing flavor and was packed with a delicious variety of sea creatures. We were delighted to find fresh chicha morado on offer too! We tried the alfajores and Peruvian Mazzamora Pudding for dessert and both were unexpected, delightful flavors. The pudding comes warm and tasted close to plum or cherry, but not actually either one. The alfajores were the most exceptional ones we’ve ever had. Freshly made wafers surround a light filling that has a hint of anise. Superb! We appreciate the great service and casual setting. Will definitely be back!!
