Nice little spot right on the water, small parking lot, but wasn't busy when we went, surprisingly. We got drinks, appetizer, and entrées and nobody had a complaint. Their Bloody Mary was actually really good, and I hate Bloody Marys! My gf got it and she loved it. I always give her drink a taste to see if I'll ever not hate it, and this was the first. I ordered the Margarita, wasn't the best I had, but it was good, I wasn't mad. I got the famous loaded dog and loved it, highly recommend trying it at least once! Chicken tenders were really good too, the breading is flaky almost like a fish batter, not your typical chicken tender batter, but it was great. Table ordered some side salads, I didn't try them but they looked fresh and tasty. The clam chowder came out super hot and I liked it a lot. A tad "fishy" but not bad IMO, but someone that may be sensitive to this may be turned off. Overall great experience, waitress was really nice and on top of things. The place is dog friendly and it's also right on the water. So grab your dog and go get a dog!

Dog friendly restuarant! And not one of those places that says "dog friendly" and then makes you feel unwelcome when you bring your dog. We felt welcome and comfortable. Wonderful outdoor area where you can enjoy your meal and have your furbaby with you. Amazing views of the intercoastal waterway. Even though there is red tide at the moment, there was no bad smell and this place is still safe to go to (we did see the occasional dead fish floating by, but nothing that would make us want to leave). We had the hamburgers and tried the deep fried hotdog bites. The burgers were tasty and reasonably priced for the waterfront view. The fried hotdog bites were interesting, I am glad we tried them, but wouldn't order them again. I would recommend trying them for fun though. Our waitress was in a bit of a bad mood, but she seemed to change her attitude by the end of the meal. Worth a stop!

I had very high expectations from this place since it was rated very highly. Finding the parking was such an hassle because their free parking lot is always full and there is no other parking nearby. We had to wait a while before someone decided to leave one of the spots so we could park. We were sat at a good table with a view almost immediately which lightened up our mood after the difficulty in finding the parking. Once we sat down, nobody came to take our order. One server kept stopping by telling us he will come over but kept going to different tables. After about 15 mins of sitting we were able to place the order. We ordered Fish & chips, Fish burger and clam chowder. We also got some mimosas to drink. Almost all the items we tried were not very flavorful. The fish in the burger and the in the fish & chips was very oily. The clam chowder tasted very salty and had big clumps which were very chewy. The only items that were good was the fries and the mimosa. Overall our experience was not good.

Ever since they re-opened due to the hurricane, it's just not the same. The food was HORRIBLE, and the service sucked. The atmosphere is AMAZING! It's so beautiful there, but the food was inedible. We did have a few drinks at the bar, which were great, but once we were seated at a table, everything went downhill. Service was awful besides the ladies at the bar, and our food came out freezing cold. The mozzarella sticks were cold and hard with no cheese pull, and the famous fully loaded salty dog was cold and literally had no taste, even though it had a bunch of toppings. We've had the same food here multiple times, and it was ALWAYS really good, but this time, it was just awful. We ended up going to Newpass Grill next door, where our food was hot and tasted so good as always. Maybe they are trying to cut corners and make up their costs due to the repairs from the hurricane, but unfortunately, we will not be back, even after being local customers for years.

Our first visit here in 5 years of Sarasota residency. It is not a ‘British pub’, per Googles description. It is a beachy, airy, comfortable and casual Sarasota style place, on the water, next to a marina/boatyard, with great views. Good food, full size + cocktails and prime to all- great service!! There was a wait, but in about 10 minutes text said table was ready. We sat at a high top along the bay view boardwalk, and our server Gracie arrived with menus, cocktail list and an engaging personna! (Note to mgmt.- Gracie is a keeper. Treat her right!) Cocktails are generous and well made. There was a grouper egg roll appetizer, and it was generous as well- 2 rolls full of fish and a filling reminiscent of a good corn chowder. Photos below show our lunch selections and some of the establishment. We like Old Salty Dog and will come again!!

A great place to take in the beautiful water scene. You can dine in our outside and have a front row seat to sailboats & birds. You can also enter both by land or water. Decor & Ambiance is relaxed. I settled for the fish & chips. The fish was a nice portion, fresh, but everything that was fried, the fish, fries, shrimp, oysters, were all pretty greasy. Disappointing because you are paying a premium price for it. With that being said, it wouldn't take much, a temperature adjustment on the fryer or if the cook was over crowding the fryer?- It's easily fixable. I ordered a tropical drink, it was anything but tasty. Maybe the real bartender was MIA? They were featured on Food Network, sooo I hope they get back on track. The big draw here is the location and ease of entry by boat ❤ I'd go again, just based on the location.
