I have wanted to try this place since it opened. We had a few things to celebrate, so we stopped by for dinner.
First, the atmosphere is clean Asian chic. Our table was round and sat 8 and had a cool lazy Susan in the middle that made it easy to share our dishes. Overall, a great casual vibe that could easily be dressed up a bit for a night out. My only complaint is all the hard surfaces make for a bit of an echo chamber. We sat down shortly after 5:00 pm and beat the dinner rush. If it was full, I imagine it would be very loud! For us, it was fine because it was not too crowded. We could hear our conversation, even across the massive table.
Overall, the service was very good. We were seated right away and had our drinks within minutes. We were a group of seven with two small children and five adults. The reason I mention our group size is we are a bit complicated. We had two gluten free people, and two with serious allergies to nuts. Our server did an excellent job getting everyone's order and our food was out quickly. When our food came out we instantly realized our error. We each ordered a meal. The portions were large enough to feed 2-3 people. The children's meals were large enough for an adult.
Which brings me to the food. I ordered the honey shrimp (no walnuts) with fried rice. I was stunned at the quantity! I hope the quality would be as good! I was not let down. The flavor was excellent and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. I would not want to eat the fried rice on it's own because it was not super flavorful, but it was a great compliment to the honey sauce on my shrimp. Everyone loved their food except my mother-in-law who ordered something spicy. She hoped for white lady spicy and got smoking Asian spicy instead! Not the chefs fault!
All in, a great experience and I'll definitely be visiting again and probably ordering take out even more! There was plenty of parking and amazing views of the valley if you sat by the windows....
Read moreNice building, inside and out. We came around 6:30 on a Friday. We had reservations. But didn't need them. It was maybe 1/3 full, and filled a little more as the night wore on.
Service wasn't tremendous. We made our order within a few minutes after sitting.
They brought out our water, but not the rest of the drinks. They brought out kids glasses for the water because they "ran out of normal glasses".
As mentioned above, they were less than half full. Not sure how they don't have enough glasses for half of the restaurant. What will they do if they fill up?
They ended up bringing the drinks as they brought out out food. A different server brought the drinks out, and just set them on the table (not in front of anyone specific) and just left.
The egg drop soup came out first. It was amazing. I had really high hopes for the food after the egg drop soup.
When we were ready for our first refill, they still didn't have cups, so they had to take the cups back.
Food was only alright. I got the "sizzling seafood" platter ($20), we also got sesame chicken combo with S&S chicken, and lo mein combo w/ S&S chicken.
The "sizzling" platter was just a hot metal dish they put pre warmed/cooked seafood mixing on. It fizzled for 30 seconds, and was done. Not long enough to actually cook anything much more. Would have been much better with an actual hot platter that would have cooked it longer, or had some sear to it. It got bland halfway through.
The sesame chicken and S&S chicken was pretty good, but probably not $20 per plate worth. There were five adults and two small children. (Three parties) I was $82 for three plates and the automatic 18% included gratuity. Service was not 18% worth. So, be prepared for that.
Loss of star for less than adequate service. Loss of another star for I'll equipped restaurant and...
Read moreIf you sit at a good table the view is awesome. Thats probably the best thing about the restaurant. However. I cannot say going here more than once is worth the view.
It's a new restaurant so reviews are mixed (and very poor as well. When you leave a review please review the food as well! )
We had General Tso chicken Ginger beef Vegetable pan fried noodles Wantons Pot stickers White rice Fried rice
All the food was just room temperature or even less than that. Nothing was hot. That's disappointing.
It was just mediocre honestly. Flavors were fine but it is not Chinese food. It's very americanized Chinese food.
The white rice was under cooked and very bland.
The fried rice was ok.
The pot stickers could have come from costco. But they were cooked well.
The wantons were also ok. And the sauce was too thick and sweet. Not worth it.
The ginger beef was not worth it. The beef was chewy and tasted like it was suppose to floured and fried up but it was chewy.
The general tso chicken was decent. Not enough flavor, nothing spicy (which I thought it was suppose to be a bit spicy) and it was cold. If it came out hot it could have been good.
The pan fried noodles were not crispy, the sauce was too thick and softened everything up. However the veggies were nice and crispy and it would have been nice to have more veggies since it was a vegetable dish.
Just not good enough to want to come back. And our server was not great. She spoke so softly we could hardly hear her. (Literally think pitch perfect girl Lilly. Not joking) and she kept forgetting to bring us plates for us to eat. And the service...
