You might drive by it on 13 south side as you head east as it has a small sign that looks like affixed to gas station BUT that old truck stop has become a small legend in our books! A cafe that has 12 tables, a four to five seat counter, booths that have a high back reminiscent of old Dutch eateries. The Windmill hangs proudly on the small lobby wall.

Staff always there to greet you and expect a wait peak times. They will text you if you want to wait in your car. Tiny lobby.

They are only open till 2pm and specialize in breakfast with a small lunch menu. One page menu, large hot cups of coffee in mugs you can purchase for $9.

Delicious 8x8 hot cinnamon rolls!

The Windmill special complete with juice, eggs, glorious crispy hash browns, extra meat, toast and pancakes. I had Eggs Benedict toasted buttered muffin to perfection, tasty sauce and hash browns on the side. They have tomato juice my fav!

Always had excellent service, clean place and clean restrooms. They have it all in a very casual atmosphere with cute kitchen curtains over the front windows.

4-5 service people, excellent cooks and food always steaming! Love that place.

Open parking lot covered in gravel, handicap ramp and stairs, wheelchair accessible...

🌟 Today marked my inaugural visit to the charming Windmill Cafe, and it exceeded all expectations! The service was not only quick but also delivered with genuine warmth. The owner's personal greeting to each customer was a thoughtful touch, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The menu, though diverse, struck a perfect balance, making the selection process a breeze.

Following the owner's recommendation, I savored their renowned Chicken Fried Steak. The dish arrived promptly, radiating heat, and the first bite was a revelation. The steak boasted tenderness and a burst of flavors that left an indelible impression. And let's not forget the crowning glory - a luscious blanket of sausage gravy.

Affordability was yet another pleasant surprise. For the quality and service offered, Windmill Cafe certainly stands as a testament to value. As I contemplate my return, the prospect of indulging in their Eggs Benedict holds immense appeal. This culinary journey is far from over! 🍳 #WindmillCafeEats #FlavorfulAdventures...

Who wants a stupid $18 mimosa and fancy brunch when you can have mom & pop owned, prices are low, where they call ya honey and the portions are massive kinda breakfast from this amazing little hole in the wall places. I'd personally pick this place over any other any day. It's the best breakfast in the area. If you haven't been in yet you need to run, don't walk, run into this place for the best breakfast. Seriously is my ultimate fave place to eat for breakfast items. If we ever move out the area I'd drive a ways just to get there. It's absolutely phenomenal! I always get the big breakfast with pancakes, eggs, hash browns, sausage links. I always get 2 meals out of it or share it with my kid cuz there is so much to it. That's a 2 for 1 buy right there!

P.s if you have a hang over, this places food will cure it so fast!

Also do not listen to these bad reviews. It's a bunch of Karen's who didn't get their way or expected a 5 star place. This is a hole in the wall, mom and pop owned diner. This place...

In 933 reviews I still have yet to give 5 stars until now! A decades old and family owned establishment, you'll be hard pressed to find a better breakfast in town. You'll absolutely love the vintage diner feeling you get from the second you walk in the door. The service is outstanding and, personally, I enjoy eating breakfast at a counter seat. There's limited counter seating but if you go by yourself it's the best option and you'll usually get a seat faster as opposed to a table. The food was outstanding! Everything was cooked perfectly and it was out pretty fast! Personally my favorite is their steak and eggs dish. They also serve very good coffee and I didn't even have to ask for a refill which was a nice surprise, and the price I paid for everything was a good value! From the moment you leave, you'll already be thinking about when you want to come back! 5 star food, 5 star atmosphere and 5 star service. Take it from a local!

It doesn’t get much better than this for a classic diner breakfast. The location is small and extremely busy, for good reason, so try to get here early. We got here around 7 am on a Sunday, and were able to get a seat right away. But when we were leaving there was a line out the door. The food here hits all the right marks for diner breakfast. I got the country fried steak and eggs, and everything was exceptional. Steak was cooked perfectly and the hash browns were extremely crispy. My wife got the corned beef hash, which was also excellent. We shared the cinnamon roll, which was massive. With how big the portion sizes are here, you’re bound to leave full. And to top it all off the prices are so cheap! All of this cost us around $30, which is unheard of for eating out anywhere near the Twin Cities.
