Grabbed lunch for my wife and kids.I got the 3 meat special and I did get a good bit of meat. I got the dark meat chicken, baby back ribs and brisket. Brisket was well seasoned and good. Chicken was juicy but lacked salt and any other type of flavor. There was also a lack of smoke on the chicken.. The baby back ribs left a lot of be desired. It was surprisingly dry. It was extremely tender and did fall off the bone. I was not a fan of the dry powder seasoning on top. It was better with sauce. I got some fries for kids and the fries were burnt and did not taste good. We also got fried okra it was also burnt and did not taste good. No one at my house ate the okra. As comparison Dickies has amazing okra and hits every time. This place did not. Some of the pricing is all over the place and inconsistent. The menu is lacking in both options and price. If you mention that you want a certain type of meat they verbally tell you there's an upcharge. There's nothing on the menu that says that there's an upcharge. It was extremely expensive for simple side items a small tub of mac and cheese that my 5-year-old can eat by himself is $9 take that in consideration. It was so expensive that I doubt I will return because it's not sustainable as a regular place to eat. Overall I've had better barbecue at other places. I'm not really impressed. I paid about $78 for two three meat specials and a few sides. There are other local businesses in Savannah that I can afford to frequent everyday and they always meet the expectations with quality. Overall I am Glad that we have a neighborhood barbecue place, however I am disappointed in the crazy pricing, lack of flavor and lack of attention to detail...
Read moreSo this was the first time I ever stepped foot in Parker's Smoked Meats. I had different individuals express how good their barbecue was, but I am a chunky chick from the South! There's only 2 things we take seriously around here: Our Jesus, and our barbecue! It smelled AMAZING inside, but I was totally UNPREPARED for the DELICIOUSNESS that assaulted my taste buds! They sell lamb, turkey wings, turkey legs, brisket, chicken, oxtails and so much more, but my only mission today was pork ribs (they do have beef ribs, but beef ribs are an abomination down South)! The ribs were fall-off-the-bone WONDERFUL! Even the gristle was tender and yummy which I joyously sucked down! I adore freshly cooked fried okra, and I thought no one did it better than Church's Chicken. Sugar, let me tell you, I have NEVER had more flavorful fried okra in my entire life! Their sweet potato soufflé was perfection with a toasted pecan topping! My 10-year-old Autistic son was with me, and he is a VERY picky eater. He won't even try new things unless I make him. I gave him a little cup of macaroni from Parker's. I almost fell out of my chair when he said, "Mommy, it tastes so good"! Before I could even pull out of the parking lot to head back home, I had to get 2 more orders of okra and another soufflé to go! Y'all, his BBW would not steer you wrong.. Do yourselves a favor and check out Parker's Smoked Meats! I promise you will NOT be...
Read moreI have been here about three times. The service has been great each time. The people at the register are so nice and patient. I can never make up my mind right away. They didn't rush me. They pleasantly answered all my questions. The owner/chef is also very nice. He came out and talked to us. He made us feel very welcome. I usually pick up the meal to go. This time I sat inside and ate my meal. I ordered the smoked wings with red rice and macaroni and cheese. My friend ordered the spare ribs with collard greens and a side salad. We had peach cobbler for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious. The spare ribs were very tender and the meat was falling off the bones. The wings were juicy and seasoned well. You could eat the ribs and chicken without any sauce. They do have sauce if you want it. The macaroni was cooked just right, almost as good as my mom's. The red rice was cooked perfectly. The collard greens were soooo good! The perfect finish was the peach cobbler with the thin flaky crust with the right amount of peaches. It was all so scrumptious! If you haven't stopped by this place yet, do yourself a favor and do it. The prices are reasonable. You will definitely leave very full...
