Parrish Family Deli — Restaurant in Sayre

Upon entry, there's nobody at the register to tell customers where to go. Going into the dining area resulted in a fellow conversing with someone in the back corner instructing me to go to the counter in the back of the store area.

Picked up a bottle of water and went to order my sandwich. The menus were hard for me to read - the store area was dark and the menu print was small. I ordered a BLT and the fellow making the sandwiches was pleasant and enthusiastic. I also ordered a side of potato salad.

The BLT was probably the best I have ever had. It was HUGE with generous bacon and the sub roll was exceptional - it was a delicious crusty roll similar to a ciabatta and it was bakery-fresh and not from a plastic bag. Just delicious.

The potato salad was homemade and not from a plastic tub and very good.

My only "complaint" is the dining area is old, tired, and self-service and the store area is dark and uninviting. But.......the staff and the food quality outstanding.

OWNER IS A SAINT!!!

Traveled to Sayre for work. Went to Parrish Family Deli for a sandwich. Not only did they make me a GREAT sub, the Italian Stallion, the owner Mark Parrish is truly a saint!

As I was leaving the parking lot, clearly not paying attention, I drove my rental car right up on one of the large stones marking the entryway. Car was stuck. Off the ground. Tires just spinning. Without skipping a beat, Mark comes out of the store, goes and gets a jack, some large timbers and other tools and spent the next 30 minutes helping a complete stranger in need. A friend of Mark's happened to drive by, parked his truck and chipped in to help. They got the car dislodged from the rock and sent me on my way. I offered to give them money for their help and they wouldn't take it. What good Samaritans. I was truly touched by their kindness. America needs more people like Mark...
