Hing Lung — Restaurant in Sayreville

This used to be the best and my favorite place to get Chinese takeout whenever I was in the area. That ended tonight. The food has gone completely downhill. Apparently they also just basically jacked up their prices practically overnight by almost 50% (48%) so much so that when I placed my order and they told me how much, I had to ask if they had accidently rang something up twice. They confirmed that it was only one of each item. They called me back a few minutes later with a question. While I had the gentleman on the phone who spoke English more clearly, I asked to confirm the total again. And he did so I inquired if they were suddenly charging a large delivery fee. He said said no they just raised their prices. And that "you must have ordered off an old menu I'll bring you a new one with the order with our new prices"

I replied No I ordered off your website you need to update THAT menu too. Then asked "really by nearly 50%?" he laughed and said yes. It has been a long day on the road, it was late and I was really hungry, so I said okay fine. Thinking they still have the best Chinese food and service around this area. So I figured it would be worth it.

I was WRONG. Not only was the food rather dry, and pretty much flavorless, but the"boneless spareribs" had chunks of bone and cartilage in them as if they used the scraps rather than the ribs. The price went up nearly 50% basically overnight and when I got my order, not only did they not include a single packet of ANY condiments, no fortune cookie, no utensils, no napkins, but not even the copy of the new menu which is normally delivered with EVERY food order from EVERY Chinese takeout joint. This place, their food and their service suck now. I'm wondering if the place was sold to new owners on the down low. Nothing is the same and...

I order from this restaurant all the time but for some reason today my order was completely wrong. I also understand that people make mistakes and everyone is human but I was yelled at by a woman who owns the place with her family. I was trying to remain as polite as possible just asking where the rest of my order was. She started to yell at me saying she needed everything I got back so she could remake it. At first I could barely understand her, and asked to speak to someone else and she just continued to yell at me. Everyone else that works here has always been very polite but her attitude was uncalled for. I'm not mad at the fact that they wanted the food back, I was mad about how rude this woman was being over the restaurants own mistake. If I could give a negative 10, I would. This place is terrible. From the moment I called to place the order, I should have known. They couldn't take down my address correctly. Anyway, I went ahead and picked up the order. The chicken was INEDIBLE!. Both chicken with cashews and the general tsos chicken could not be eater. The pieces were so hard. Like all overcooked breading, no meat. It was disgusting. The fried rice was bland. The egg rolls, too. They didn't give any noodles or fortune cookies. I would never recommend or order from this place...
