Manhattan Bagel — Restaurant in Sayreville

I'm trying to be fair in my review, so I'm giving two stars instead of the one I want to give because I'm mad. To tell the truth, the bagels weren't bad. They weren't great, but they weren't bad. BUT - at $7 for "scallion" cream cheese, I expect it to be fresh and homemade - not mass produced s**t I can get at the grocery store. And for $6 (for two "sides"), I don't expect four paper thin slices of bacon that tasted more like cardboard. It's my own fault - I thought Manhattan Bagel sounded familiar because it was the one around the corner from me, but that wasn't the reason. Not sure what happened to this place. It used to be very good at one point but it seems that as the franchise expanded, they got greedier just like every other fast food corporation. I haven’t complained publicly before but this is the third time in a row where I’ve received terrible quality of food. Our bagels literally had no cream cheese in it and they forgot my hashbrown. Who wants to pay $5+ for basically just a bagel? Prices are ridiculously high and I feel like they keep increasing them every few months too. I ordered everything whole wheat bage with fresh salmon and scallions cream cheese. The sandwich barely had any salmon in it! When I told the worker and the manager about the service I'm paying for ($14+), the worker shook his head like not paying attention to what I had to say of a complaint all I had to get in return from the manager was a free Bagel on the house!! I absolutely refused and said no, thank you! Next time, give the customer the right amount of food they paid for. I took some pics to prove what I have to say!
