Sean's Pub N' Grub — Restaurant in Sayreville

First time here, but based on the experience, we will be back again. I will say that getting here made it appear that the directions were wrong as this in the middle of a large residential area. Walking inside, you instantly realize this is a regulars place. However, we didn't feel unwelcome. Two of us tried the Wimmer Burger. The burgers were good, but whoever prepared the menu has no idea what beer cheese is. It was liquid cheese from a can and was a little spicy. It was more appropriate for nachos. So while that was a disappointment, the beef was not. Both burgers were tender and juicy. We had plenty of attention from our servers (one might have been an owner) and the drinks never went dry. And if you are partial to amber beer, they did not have....

My wife and I were around this area for a concert and saw this place had good reviews, so we went to go check it out before the show. When we walked inside, nobody said anything to us. The bar was full, and literally every single person turned around and just stared at us. Nobody said anything at all, and after 5 minutes of literally standing around getting dirty looks, we finally left. A group came in after us and was also just standing around for 5 minutes.

It seems like a nice neighborhood bar where everyone knows everyone, but outsiders don't seem welcome. I am sorry if this is not the case, but it was honestly extremely uncomfortable, and the glares we got from everyone at the bar...

The bar pie and wings are good. The wings are actually air fried and you can't tell. You have to try the Asian sweet chili flavor. They also have $5 personal pitchers of beer. The thing I liked most is the people are cool. Being a Black female living in a predominantly White area it's not always easy to find places where I feel comfortable. This is definitely one of them. The customers are super cool and the bartenders are even better. The owner is always a really cool dude. I would recommend you stop by for some beer and pizza. Don't forget the wings! Trust me...you won't regret it. It is definitely...
