Went to try it out during opening weekend and it was very busy. We went around 7pm so it was expected to be crowded during that time. The restaurant offered 15% off the total bill during opening weekend but added a 15% auto gratuity to our bill.
The staff were overwhelmed and although many people had to wait upwards of 20 minutes for a table we got seated right away. No one came to greet our table or to take our order for about 15 minutes after we were seated which was possibly due to the high volume of customers at the time.
Once we did place our order it was a very chaotic delivery process. The server that took our order did not deliver any of the food and we did not see her again until the end. Often times random servers would drop food on the table and run off without stating what the item was or placing it in front of the person that ordered it. For a place that offers many different type of sandwiches, this was confusing as we did not know what was coming out in what order. They also gave us the wrong item and it just sat at our table for a while until we were able to find someone to take it back. They didn't even confirm what we were supposed to get and verify that item was still coming out but we trusted the process and waited some more.
After all the food came out and we were nearly done eating, our original waitress came by to ask how we were doing. At this point we had already flagged down several other waiters passing by to ask for simple things that should've already been on our table like forks, water, and napkins. Once we were done we sat for another 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us. We had no food or water left on our table and we still had look around to find someone to request the bill. Meanwhile there were 10-15 people waiting outside in the heat for tables.
The meals were also scattered and the first person at our table got their meal about 15-20 minutes before the last person at our table leading to unnecessary wait times for patrons waiting for tables outside. It also led that person to finish eating and then sit around until the rest of us got our food. If he had waited for us his food would've been cold. It is possible the kitchen was very backed up and this was due to the opening weekend crowd but it's common practice to place an order for a table together. It was visibly noticeable that the same items we were ordering were going to other tables that ordered after us because the staff were likely mixing up the orders.
Food was overall really flavorful and plated well but I think for the prices the portions could have been a bit bigger (specifically the pizzas and the sandwiches/burgers/paninis should maybe come with chips to make it worth the price)
Overall the experience was very overwhelming, the menu is very lengthy which offers a lot of "choices" but it causes a lot of delay and back ups in the kitchen leading to long wait times and no communication from the staff/waiters.
I would recommend only trying it during a slow time. Wait out the crowd and hype. It is expensive and overcrowded right now and the staff needs time to find their groove before this place is...
Read moreWe went to Choice Indian restaurant for their grand opening yesterday. We waited more than 30 minutes for a table. Our first table had water dripping from ceiling so we moved to a different table.
The menu was made nicely, lot of thoughts put into presentation.
We ordered vada pav, paneer pizza, âKitketâ shake and Bombay bhel. Kitket shake came quickly, tasted okay, portion size was very less for the price. Vada pav arrived after 20 minutes- there were 2 pieces in one order. Vada pav was better than the other times, but lacked authenticity. Green Chutney was very good. Paneer pizza- this was not a pizza. It was cheese and paneer on top of cracker biscuit. The pizza base was as extremely brittle and tasted like a cracker biscuit. Bombay bhel- I would have left a review about this if we ever received it, even after waiting for 45 minutes.
Service- the staff was very overwhelmed with the crowd, and poorly managed. For eg, we were asked if we got our bhel from 4 different people instead of our assigned server. For a grand opening, no one came and asked if we were having a good experience or enjoyed our food.
Also for an Indian vegetarian restaurant, they ran out of pav bhaji and chole bhature 2 hours before closing.
Overall, the wait times for food killed the hunger, and the food was not worth the wait. We were so hungry that we had to go next door to inchins and got our food...
Read moreWe had a wonderful experience at Choice Indian Vegetarian Restaurant. As someone who follows a Jain diet, it was such a pleasant surprise to find so many Jain options clearly marked and thoughtfully prepared. Even betterâthey were more than happy to customize our dishes to make them fully vegan, which is not always easy to find!
The food was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The wait time was about an hour, but honestlyâit was worth it. Itâs clear word is spreading fast about how great this place is, and the line is just a reflection of that.
We did have a few mix-ups with our order, but it was very late and extremely busy, and the server was kind and accommodating in trying to fix everything quickly. I truly appreciated that they didnât brush it off and made the effort to make it right.
The owner is Jain himself, and it shows in the authenticity and sensitivity to the dietary needs of the Jain community. He was personable, involved, and genuinely cares about the experience.
Iâm excited to see where this restaurant goes as they continue to grow. Definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for high-quality vegetarian, vegan, or Jain food in a warm and welcoming setting.
If youâre wondering what we ordered, we got their JAIN Bhel, burgers, kabab, jumbo sandwich ,...
