I arrived at the restaurant as a party of two with a friend of mine. We were both excited because Denny's is one of our favorite childhood restaurants and they closed down in the city years ago where we are from. After a long drive we were hoping to get good service and good food. The food was good however, the service was terrible. When we arrived on 7/8/2023 around 5:30pm we were immediately seated and served our drinks. We did not see our waitress for another 30 mins. She came back talking as if she was exhausted and said, "oh I'm sorry I thought you guys would have left." She then explained that there was a reunion between a father and daughter in a private area of the restaurant with a big party size which is the reason for the wait. Although the restaurant was quiet and parking lot was pretty much empty, we took her word for it and stated that's it's ok and we were ready to order. She then took our order and we waited another 25 to 30 minutes for our waitress to return and refill my coffee. About another 10 minutes went by before she finally brought out our breakfast food without my pancakes which she stated she forgot about which led to another 15 minute wait. Meanwhile, we sat there and watched a party of 3 and 2 parties of two walk in and receive their drinks and food in no more than a 15 min. wait. When I got up to pay for our food the same waitress walked away from the register as I approached her. I stood there patiently waiting because I thought she was going to come right back however, she did not. My friend walked over to her and tried to get her attention by saying, "excuse me, excuse me, we are ready to pay. She then follows him back to the register and yells, "haha, oh I was like, did I hear yelling?"... At this point, I was upset that we decided to eat here however, I now know to be more conscious on where I decide to spend my hard earned money. I'm not positive on why we were treated differently and I hope it was not racial related even though it sure seemed that way. If you are white, from what I saw you would most likely have a great experience however, if you are American African, African American or any other race, I would not take a chance coming here unless you are ok with lower...
Read moreIn the middle of everything that is going on in our area and the world, it's important to be kind and courteous to each other.
Our waitress did her best, she was super busy and my family and I knew that as soon as we sat down. We ordered all our food the second she came asking about drinks so that we could get in and out quick.
Our food came, some of the butter on only a few pieces of toast tasted like cinnamon or something like that. Not a big deal to us really but if someone was allergic then maybe it would have been. My husband is diabetic and doesn't consume Suger, so he notice immediately. When we told the waitress, she relief by saying that they use a separate brush for the butter and whatnot. Again, not a big deal but you could clearly see that she was overwhelmed. It was sad to see.
I'm so sorry to put this out there but this place needs some serious attention. The poor staff here are doing their absolute best to just get the job done and the owner of this establishment should be ashamed at this place.
The utensils looked like they had been soaked in water and just placed in the white bag on each table. The water cups had waterspots on them which could mean that the water quality was very bad. The women's bathroom was disgusting. Only one stall was working and it wasn't the handicap stall or the bigger stall so if a handicap person had to go in there, they would have an extremely hard time especially with the fact that the toilet that was working was very low down almost like it was designed for a day care.
The wall & floor tile looked like it had been sprayed with something that left residue on it and never got wiped down. I am completely disgusted at the presentation of this place now.
I feel truly sorry for the staff that have to work here, probably not getting a decent amount of pay and not enough support from the owner. There is only so much that management staff can do about this, not sure if this is a corporate establishment because if it is, Shame on you and all you other corporate giants😞 If you're the owner and these people are working for you, you should be ashamed also. This is not fair, not...
Read moreIf I could’ve gave them 0 stars I sure would’ve!! To start I want to express I have 20 years experience of serving so I totally understand the difficulties for servers. This night my daughter and I went for what was advertised as the $5.99 grand slam. We arrived and was asked if we were there for a To-Go. I said no we’re eating in. There was barely any cleared & wiped tables in the place. Though they were almost all empty. We placed our order, got our drinks, and waited. Didn’t take long to get our food, I figured due to it being slow. I ordered the Beef brisket/Mac n Cheese skillet. My daughter ordered the classic sampler appetizer. I will say our sodas were the only thing we couldn’t complain about. The silverware was not so clean. So before eating I had to wipe our utensils. My skillet was not warm let alone hot. It was all cheese sauce, barely any pasta. The brisket was mostly fat. Rubbery fat. And 🥶 COLD. At first I tried fighting through by eating it cold. But I couldn’t. So my daughter ate while I waited 10 minutes to get someone to take it back to the kitchen to warm it up. After it was warmed I was able to take like 4 bites. By this time I was feeling sick. I took notice to all the staff sitting up in the front on their phones. While every other table was packed with dishes. I will say this Dennys used to be amazing! They used to have great food, great prices, great service. Great management. Tonight we didn’t even get “how is/was everything” not once. Not one time throughout our meal did our server check in. Though I will say she was very kind to my daughter. I noticed the servers have very bad habits of placing plates on their chest/arm to deliver to the tables. That’s what trays are for. I downy eat a plate of food if it was served from an arm, forearm, etc. we spent more than $20 a person, most of the food was left on the table untouched. They need to close that place down for a week and put them servers on a deep clean mission. Maybe retrain them all. Teach them about cleanliness and hygiene while they serving. Idk but something needs to be done to fix that mess...
