Ok, the very FIRST thing that "I" need to express, is that I am just getting to leave my "overwhelmed with guud-ness" review - I ate here for the very first time, late last June. But I cannot allow another day to go by without exhalting the owner and his delicious food.
Jerry, the owner of this quaint and MASSIVE producer of some of the most delicious "Taters" I have EVER experienced, is very polished in customer service AND relations. His ethic in terms of cleanliness and his finished product, is simply unmatched in his area of culinary expertise. But I can't stress enough, that "Taters" is not all this "Baked Potato Factory" is known for - and once you deliberate over the menu you will see for yourself! And speaking of the menu, do yourself a favor, because this is where he literally shines - take whatever time you need to peruse the ENTIRE menu - THEN call ahead and make your order! Trust me when I tell you, and I still do not know HOW he pulls this off with laser like efficiency, and with the amount of traffic he attends to; how your "Tater" is exceptional whether exactly how it comes from the menu, or made-to-order; and your service and satisfactoon is of paramount priority as he delivers every time! (Pssst, I listened to other customer's conversations while I was there)
My cuzzn Ed and I had the Brisket Tater on my first visit. Cuzzn Ed's been here twice prior. We called ahead from New Iberia (Yes, The Berry). And guess what - our Taters were HOT and ready when we got there! đ€·đœââïž
Lawd-hab-mercy, I'm having satiety flashbacks from those monstrous "brisket filled Taters!"
Ok, so I'm done here. Sadly, but thankfully for me, I'm the only child, sole caregiver for my 91 year old father who has dementia. And when possible, I can only make a same day turnaround from Houston to New Iberia to check on my home - and my Harley. It gives me about 5 hours after I get there to get ready to come right back to my father to finish honoring my unconditional commitment to dad and his care. But all the way back on that first occasion to experience Jerry's vision of a baked potato haven, was what will I order the next time - and it will be the "Gumbo Tater!" And I cannot WAIT to get back!
Thank you, brother Jerry. Thank you for being obedient to the vision that only our FATHER in heaven could have given...
Read moreA few years ago this was an extremely pleasant establishment to visit. The owner was friendly and I not only bragged about the food, but the owner also. This, however, is no longer the case. We got food here a few days ago. Like many of the negative reviews, we were looked down upon and greeted with a jackassy attitude for daring to not call in ahead of time. We were in the area and last minute decided to get some food here...a fact that should recieve the utmost respect. We could have chosen to eat in dozens of other places, but we chose Super Tater. We got nothing but negative attitude for our decision. You need the public FAR more than the public needs you. If you have such an issue with people coming in your business without calling ahead, then why not just close the doors and become a call in restaurant instead? People have a lot of choices. Most of them without negativity, so why not just be tolerant of people willing to give you their hard earned money? Doesn't seem that complicated to me. Perhaps arrogance is partially at fault; it seems a certain comfort level has been achieved and this negates good customer service. In the end, I'm more willing to shrug off mediocre food if the staff is friendly, while good food with an extra helping of arrogance and rudeness will never...
Read moreVisited the location with my son. A coworker shared her negative experience prior to me showing up but I've visited before, so I thought maybe the person assisting her had a bad day, which showed in the service she received. I walked in and was not greeted but asked if I had a call in or needed to order. Then the individuals walking in behind me was greeted with the same. I proceeded walking forward because eventhough I had not called in my order, I knew what I was ordering. The owner turned around and assisted the cook with orders taken prior to me walking in, then rudely turned back to the lobby and asked was any of us knew what we wanted. I ordered and before even swiping my card, he proceeded to take the order of the customer behind me. I was handed my receipt and told it would be 20 minutes. While waiting another customer waiting with us stood around as she waited and before handing her her order he mentioned that if she had called in her order she would not have had to wait as long. But it was said in a tone of annoyance and not informative to the customer. I will likely not return based off of the customer service I experienced from the business. If the owner acts this way with his customers there is no hope for the rest...
