Tucked into the heartbeat of Southwest Louisiana, Uncle T’s is more than a restaurant—it’s a full-body experience that delivers big on flavor, warmth, and that unmistakable Cajun hospitality. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t need flashy marketing or gimmicks; the food and the people are the story.
Let’s talk oysters. Yes, they come grilled, charbroiled, smothered, and dressed to impress—but for the purists among us, the half shell is where the magic happens. Uncle T’s does it right: briny, fresh, and ice-cold, served with enough lemon, horseradish, and cocktail sauce to make you feel like you’re dockside somewhere sacred. They don’t just shuck oysters—they respect them.
Now, if you’re only going to try one dish beyond the oysters (though let’s be honest, you’re going to want more), go for the pulled pork tacos. These aren’t your average Tex-Mex throwaways. We’re talking smoky, melt-in-your-mouth pork, tucked into soft shells, topped with just the right kick of slaw and sauce. They’re rich without being heavy, bold without overpowering the palate. Top tier doesn’t even cut it—they’re in a league of their own.
The service? Always on point. Whether you’re a regular or just dropping in, the staff knows how to make you feel like you’re part of the Uncle T’s family. Attentive without hovering, friendly without being rehearsed. It’s that rare balance most places try to fake—but here, it’s just how they do things.
In a region full of dining options, Uncle T’s stands out not by trying to be everything, but by being exceptional at what it does. Come hungry, come curious, and come ready to fall in love with a place that knows its identity and leans all the way in. Uncle T’s isn’t just worth the stop—it’s the reason to...
Read moreWas super disappointed in service this weekend. We didn't even stay 15 mins. Went to bring my father in law to enjoy charbroiled oysters for his birthday, as we have had them several times before. We got there, were seated, put in a drink order. First issue was that they didn't serve water that didn't come out of the same line lemonade did or have any caffeine free options (my wife is allergic to citrus and can not have caffeine). They didn't have any other options for her, so she just asked for ice. We placed a drink order of 1 sweet tea, a kids sweet tea, 2 waters, a kids water and a glass of ice. 2nd issue was when the drinks were brought by, the waitress asked if we wanted an appetizer, in which we replied we wanted charbroiled oysters. She told us they weren't serving oysters charbroiled, only raw and just walked off. I had called her back, but she didn't come. Actually had to go and grab a different waitress to grab her, as we weren't going to stay since we came for charbroiled oysters and that that should have been told to us prior to them seating us or even while she was seating us. She told us we would have to pay for the drinks, that we didn't even drink. (Which would be understandable if we drank anything from them.) We asked for to-go cups. We were told to-go cups weren't offered. I was brought the bill and had to pay $16.86 for 2 waters, 1 sweet tea, a glass of ice, a kids sweet tea, and a kids water. Imagine my shock. When I tried to dispute it, with the waitress, she said there was nothing she could do. Tried calling to speak with the manager today about the situation as was told he doesn't take calls. All in all, may have been a bad evening, but the service was terrible. We wont be back...
Read moreBest restaurant I've been to in probably 20 years. Service is always friendly and very on top of their game. The food is always excellent and everything is very freshly prepared. I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars for the atmosphere because it can get packed pretty quickly, especially during the lunch rush, and gets a little loud. If you're within 50 miles of this place, it's definitely worth the trip! Update as of 6/12/2025 Waited to be sat for almost 10 minutes and was told no inside tables were available, even though there were at least 7 which were cleaned and unoccupied. Even though it was quite warm outside, that was the only place to sit and eat so we just went with it. After about 10 minutes of waiting, a server named Kynlee came over and asked if we had been waited on. It wasn't her section but she made the decision to take care of us and did a fantastic job overall. Disappointed in the visit due to having to sit outside, even after there were plenty of tables available inside. It was also well past lunch rush when we got there, so I don't understand the reason we were forced to eat outside. Not a Karyn, but I think management needs to provide better overall training for their front of house and wait staff to ensure better customer service in the future. Kynlee saved the day and was awesome all the way around. Uncle T's needs about 4 more like her and if they did that, that place would be hands down a very respectable and trustworthy place to dine in at any time. Customer service and actually caring...
