We had the pleasure of trying the Powerhouse out for dinner. We had a party of 6 with two children aged 7 and 4. We were immediately provided with Powerhouse Popcorn to snack on while we scanned the menu. The kids and adults loved the popcorn. We decided to order the asian meatballs and the burnt ends for appetizers. The appetizers came out quickly and where very tasty. While waiting for the appetizers, we ordered or main courses. A kids slider burger and mac and cheese were ordered for the children. The adults meals included: corn chowder, Filet, Ribeye, and Brisket Tacos. While waiting for the main course, the waiter and his supervisor/s made numerous stops at the table to provide refills on drinks/popcorn and drink orders from the bar. The meals arrived at the table in a timely manner. The food was all very delicious. I personally had the ribeye. It was cooked to my order specifications and had great flavor. I also had the mushrooms with the steak. I was told these are grown by a mushroom grower just a few blocks away. Even though we were feeling quite stuffed, we ordered a creme brule and a tiramisu for desert. These came out very quickly and were delicious. I love the atmosphere of the powerhouse. The woodwork, bar, historical features, etc. are beautiful. The time and care that was put into the design is remarkable. I also appreciate the support they show for other local businesses. There are numerous things on the menu that are grown or made by local suppliers. I also like the menu offerings. There are not numerous pages of menu items. They offer a good selection of items and prepare them well. It is nice to have another place to eat that is not just another bar and grill atmosphere with the typical items. This is a place we can take out of town visitors too and be proud of. We ate at the Powerhouse during their first week open to the public. I look forward to going back soon and trying more menu items. I only envision this dining opportunity...
Read moreThey asked for feedback so here it goes. These things individually arent a big deal, but all together caused us to think about waiting a while before coming back. Host/hostess are too soft spoken and obviously nervous about what they are doing. Maybe need some encouragement? They set the tone for your guests. We had an issue with our service but I believe it was an honest mistake. We waited 25/30 min after eating to get our check because our waitress was told to work a group in the back. I had to go look for her. We did get an apology, no discount though. The atmosphere is great, aside from the staff's attire not matching it. Jeans and plaid shirts don't seem to mesh well with high-end restaurant interior. Maybe they're going for a blend of high-end and sports bar, to attract multiple demographics. I think it makes more sense to commit to one theme, but I'm not an expert. FOOD: The pretzel bites and beer cheese were visually appealing and delicious! I can't say the same for our entrees though. The bolognese sauce was bland. Also, maybe this is just MY preference, but I felt the noodles were too thick, I expected thin spaghetti or tagliatelle pasta. The brisket tacos were good according to my fiance. Side salad was cold and crisp, a plus. I saw someone get wings and they were huge, will try next time. Overall the experience did not meet expectations and the prices would be acceptable if the taste of the food matched. I hope improvements are made as they settle in and get feedback. We will try again in...

I had the Brussels sprouts and wings. And I'm looking forward to trying out their other offerings.
The Brussels sprouts are outstanding; not mushy, with a nice flavorful glaze. They came out SCALDING HOT, which means they didn't sit and got to me fast.
The wings? Where do I begin? They're not breaded per se, but they have a crispy texture on the skin, which is PERFECT! I hate breaded wings because they get soggy. These guys do it right! The Buffaler sauce, yes, I spelled that correctly, was spicy, but not excessively so, and were just spicy enough to make them a special treat, and flavorful though to make them something I just couldn't stop eating! The bleu cheese dressing, which is, of course, made in house, is incredible. Just the right size cheese curds, not overly funky, and honestly? I would have been perfectly fine with like... 3 more servings. Which is not to say that they didn't give me enough - it was just that good.
All in all, I'm super impressed. I never felt rushed, I felt welcome. And I honestly cannot think of a single thing that I didn't like about the place.
Well done Powerhouse Social! Well done, indeed!
Check them out if you want upscale but casual dining. If you don't, I'll slap you in the face with a rainbow trout. Fresh,...
