I wanted to place a to go order and the server who was on the floor just kept yelling it’s “open seating” I thought that with the eye contact and me still standing at the door she would figure out that I wasn’t there to sit down and eat. She didn’t come over to us so me and the person I was with sat down and a new waiter came over. I told him I wasn’t there to eat and that I wanted to place a to go order and she was like “oh” and act surprise. Which makes sense since I was seated but nobody asked me what I was there for. So I placed my to go order and when the guy came back with the food I told him that I also have a pick up order which I didn’t say in the beginning because it wasn’t ready at the time and I was tracking the progress on my phone. He said “I have no idea what your are taking about” and continued to act confused. I sat there and waited to see if he was going to check for the order or what not before I chose to speak to someone else. Then the other server lady (who was yelling in the beginning) brought over my food and asked if I had a to go order and I said yes and was going to ask her the name since there was no receipt or anything to indicate it was actual mine. There could’ve been other pick up orders. She set the food down and walked away with a smug look. Need better service & the food was not it at all! I’m not one to make reviews but I was highly disappointed considering all the...
Read moreLet’s be honest: no one’s heading to Juan Jaime’s expecting a five-star culinary journey. You’re here for tacos, tequila, and the hope that the chips hit the table before your blood sugar crashes. And in that sacred mission, Juan Jaime’s delivers… mostly.
The food? It’s solid. The tacos are respectable, the burritos are big enough to regret later, and the salsa has just enough kick to make you reach for that margarita—which, by the way, is the real MVP here. These drinks are strong enough to make you think you speak fluent Spanish by round two. Ask your server nicely, and they’ll keep ’em coming like a well-oiled fiesta machine.
The vibe is casual, with a patio that’s perfect for people-watching and questioning your life choices after ordering that third plate of nachos “for the table.” Service can be a little hit or miss, depending on how busy things are, but everyone’s friendly and no one judges you for ordering queso as your entrée. (As they shouldn’t.)
Juan Jaime’s might not be the pinnacle of Mexican cuisine, but it’s the kind of place where the guac is extra, the margaritas are generous, and you’ll probably leave full, mildly buzzed, and slightly sunburned. And really, isn’t that what Scottsdale dining...
Read moreHad a very good lunch there today. Nice, clean restaurant. Our waiter was friendly. Service was good. Food was fresh & hot. We sat on the patio, and were cooled by misters. Simple menu with tacos, enchiladas or burritos and your choice of protein. They have typical fixings, like lettuce, tomato, onion, sour cream and guac, which is really just fine. Im a seafood taco lover though and it would have been nice if they had a few more topping options like pickled onions, cabbage, different cremas, mexican slaws. You can get really creative with taco toppings. They did have a nice salsa selection. My favorite was the green. Nice & spicy. Our meal was good, we had steak, mahi mahi, shrimp, and carnitas tacos. All good. We will definitely go back....
