Service Very Poor; Staff can't be bothered. They just walk around and around, not helping guests. I walked in and the host was on the phone for 10+minutes, didn't acknowledge me. A team member walked right in front of me and said she'll be with you and walked away. I finally asked a gal that kept walking around looking towards me if I could grab a table in the bar area and she said yes. I sat a while, no acknowledgement, I changed seats, host still on the phone. I walked up to her and asked her to hand me menus. Again, I sat and sat, finally the guy I originally encountered who had walked by several times, brought chips and salsa, walked away. Came back with water, dropped it and walked away. Didn't ask if I was ready to order. And no one came back. After a while the original gal who said I could sit in the bar area, after walking by me several times, finally asked if I had been helped, and then said, "Oh, Ok, I'll go ahead and help." To her credit: she did check on me several times and was very helpful. I ordered HH food at $9 each. Queso Fundido and Mini Chimis (chicken). Honestly, the salsa that came with the comp chips was the most delicious item (it's spicy). Sadly, they charge $3 extra for a refill on the house Salsa. Ridiculous. I understand charging for specialty salsa, but the house salsa should be no charge, especially with the amount they charge $$$ for food and drinks. Pricing definitely doesnāt match the quality. The Queso had an odd bitter taste (couldn't quite figure out what it was). Chimis were ok, 2 Mini Chimis cut in half so it appears like 4 snack size. Flavor wise was ok. Iāve been in several times since the first visit and the food and service consistently fall below average. High $$$ for the amount/quality. Worst Service and very salty, overpriced, mediocre food. Very unwelcoming, unfriendly service. I donāt recommend for the food, there's much better Mexican...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreArrival and Atmosphere: Upon entering Salt and Lime Cantina, the festive Christmas decor and bustling crowd set a merry ambiance. However, the downside became apparent as by 6:30 PM, the restaurant had to turn away eager diners. A suggestion: implementing a voicemail system to inform potential patrons when at max capacity could ease disappointment.
Interior Design: While embracing the Christmas theme, the excessive use of decorations appeared gaudy and lacked a cohesive layout. The abundance of aluminum wrapping paper and LED lighting felt chaotic rather than organized, almost like a holiday explosion.
Food Exploration: The fajitas showcased a unique cooking style, cutting the meat with vegetables, resulting in tender but differently textured bites. Black beans lacked flavor, necessitating extra seasoning. Subpar rice got a flavor boost from corn. Pico de gallo and guacamole were meager, reflecting a lack of pride in preparation. The mushroom queso stood out with quality white queso adhering deliciously to tortilla chips.
For Water Aficionados: Water enthusiasts, beware. While free, the glasses provided are half the size of soda drinks, subtly nudging towards purchasing larger beverages. A recommendation: consider bringing your filtered water for a more satisfying hydration experience.
Overall Impressions: Rating the overall experience at 3/5, the extended wait, coupled with mixed feelings about the decor and food, makes a revisit unlikely. However, for takeout enthusiasts seeking a quick meal, the rating edges up to 3.5/5, making Salt and Lime Cantina a viable option.
Personal Insight: Hailing from Texas, my love for Mexican cuisine is ingrained. Health-conscious and valuing culinary excellence, my experience is shaped by a preference for high-quality, fresh ingredients. I abstain from alcohol, sodas, and juices, making me an unconventional judge of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would like to see a little better happy hour. A flight of tacos would be awesome, I suggested it hopefully that is something we see on the menu soon.. Here is the DL on the tacos that we ordered. The carne asada tacos were most excellent. They were very tender but I would have like to seen more of a pico de gallo finish with a little bit more lime. The Barbacoa was very good, and really juicy meat I enjoyed them. The fish tacos came out lacking the accompanying sauce. By the time we receive the sauce the taco was cold, the fish however was still tasty with a crispy coating. They were however lacking some flavor without the sauce I think it was basically a lack of salt. The chicken taco was most disappointing it had a smoky flavor that was okay, but it was overwhelmed by being too salty. Neither my friend nor I finished this taco. I ordered a pomegranate tequila margarita with a sugar rim that turned out absolutely excellent. My friends jalapeno margarita had no Jalapeno cilantro flavor whatsoever I tasted only pineapple. And I don't think there was any pineapple in the drink so it was a loser. Overall our experience was great and the food was good and we certainly will return. The habanero salsa is simply just hot. I didn't find it had any flavor whatsoever. The house salsa is good, not great it's okay. But fine for being a complementary chips and salsa. The wait staff was most excellent and very pleasant. Overall our dining experience was very good I dinged a star for the one poor margarita and a really bad...
