I questioned whether to share my recent experience or just let it go, but I feel a need to pursue. This was my first experience with Lynn Sandy. I have family that order cakes here frequently. My son and daughter-in-law's wedding cake came from LS. The main reason I went to Lynn Sandy was to get royal icing cookies for my daughter-in-law's baby shower. I ordered 2 dozen. Shared a photo of what I wanted at initial visit. I also ordered 3 dozen cupcakes at that visit. As a fault of my own, I should have asked for an order form with prices. An order form was not given to me. I went in a 2nd time and ordered a 5 pound tray of assorted cookies to add to order. They had a hard time finding my order. Everybody is very nice, but felt like there were inexperienced help at counter on both visits. It took a bit to receive useful help. My sister-in-law picked up the order for me the day before shower. We added a dozen more cupcakes which was fine. She returned to my home in Tunkhannock, and realized we were short 4 royal icing cookies and charged for them. Nothing was itemized in receipt and I didnt have an order form to refer to. Immediately called and they offered options to make their error right. We opted for the small cookie tray and was credited for missing cookies. That was all well and good. Everything was delicious. However, my sister-in-law had to make a second trip. I was short royal icing cookies that I went initially went there for. It's just the principle of it all. I failed to ask for order form, but I shouldn't have to do that. I appreciate the manager making it right. People make mistakes, but really need to be careful when this is your business. Two stars given, because it made more unnecessary work for us at a...
Read moreUpdate: they did call after seeing this review and ask us to come back so they could make the cake right. They also gave us a tray if cookies as an apology and let me know the employee who took the order and incorrectly wrote the order out had previously been let go. The owner was very apologetic for the mistakes along the way. I look forward to trying the cake at the party.
We ordered a cake for my in-laws 51st anniversary. I had them repeat to me what was to go on the cake, Happy 51st anniversary Pat and Phil. The cake they made said Happy 51st anniversary Ann, Pat, and Phil. Apparently they did not find it odd that people celebrating their 51st anniversary would have 3 people in the marriage. They did not bother to call and confirm what was to be written on the cake. They did fix it but you could tell it was fixed. I also asked for hunter green and gold decorations as that was their wedding colors. The person taking the order said that was no problem. We got pale green and somewhat darker green. Again no call to let us know they couldn't do what was ordered. We'll see if it is actually carrot cake with cream cheese icing when it is cut...but not holding my breath. Never again will I go to...
Read moreHmmm. The first time here. Getting a birthday cake for my daughter. I mentioned she has a food dye allergy that can kill her. She can only have lemon or white frosting but the lemon had the color dye she is allergic to mix in it. The only option she she said was whip cream. I asked about butter cream she said she would have to look at each item, because they mix it themselves. Ok but never went to check so my daughter can decide. So given no choice she picked the whipped cream. She hate it. She threw it in the trash. What a waste. Thanks a lot y'all for that experience. When we got home found out that they never mentioned that they had cream cheese frosting. Wow. That would of been better. They break their necks for their own kind, but me no way. Now I have no cake for my daughter's birthday. OMG!!!! What a disappointment. What do I now???? I picked it up the day before her birthday yesterday 04-20-23. Her birthday is...
