Wow…Yumi is on another level. We found them in a list of best restaurants at the shore. So glad I pivoted to the following day when originally calling for a same day reservation Thursday! We were running late and added a sixth person to our party of five, called them and they said no problem. Arrived, told them our name, and our table was ready in five minutes. The server did everything from busing to taking orders and serving. She was flawless with the help of on or two others. They all worked like a miracle team to make the front of the house run seamlessly. She was attentive without being overly burdensome and never made us feel like we were out of reach. There were so many delicious options in the menu I just asked her to make recommendation. We went with just about everything she suggested. The food was absolutely amazing! The kitchen knocked it out of the park!! From execution to quality and freshness of ingredients and inventiveness of flavor combinations. Just incredible! My only disappointment was that I’ll never be able to enjoy our regular spot closer to home as much again. I should have taken a picture of the check so we could recreate the magic the next time we go here. I’ll be thinking of this meal for a long long time and look forward to many happy...

Absolutely love this place! I find it really hard to believe some of the negative reviews I read here and feel compelled to share my thoughts. We've been to many sushi & Japanese restaurants locally as well as outside of NJ and find Yumi to be exceptional. Yumi is always fresh, always inventive, always delicious. I particularly love the Yankee Roll, tuna taco, and organic salmon. The non-sushi items are wonderful as the sushi and sashimi. It's not inexpensive and there are many small plate options but we go here regularly and have never been disappointed. An added bonus is that we almost always meet new people when eating here (especially if you're sitting in a two-top along the far wall... the tables are closely situated and it lends itself to conversation) and the folks we meet are almost always foodies who love it as well. Regarding the service: we've become friendly with many of the wait staff and have found them attentive and responsive. At times the restaurant can be very busy but it is very well managed. I can't recommend the experience...
