My husband and I visited Coastal Chophouse a week ago after hearing buzz about a new BYOB steakhouse in town. We couldn't wait to try it--and let me just say, this place is a keeper. They didn't just feed me... I was pampered with a perfectly prepared steak and a dessert so emotionally satisfying it could have replaced therapy (or a room full of bow tie-wearing kittens).
The service- Our server, Anecia was an absolute pro: friendly, fast, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu--especially considering the place had just opened. You'd think she'd been working there for years.
Now, for the main event: the food. We both started with the lobster chowder, which tasted like New England clam chowder and lobster bisque had a delicious baby--one filled with bacon and potatoes and possibly hopes and dreams. The table bread with sweet butter? Dangerous. I nearly filled up on that alone but forced myself to rally.
We both ordered the ribeyes, and they came out perfectly cooked and seasoned. To celebrate our first visit, we went all in on sides--served family style. The French fries were crispy perfection, the creamed kale was rich and comforting, and the mac and cheese? I'm still thinking about it. Most mac and cheese doesn't survive the next day, but this one reheated like a champ--creamy, cheesy, and clearly made with real-deal ingredients. My husband declared it one of the best ribeyes he's ever had--perfectly marbled and cooked to perfection.
For dessert I had the dark chocolate mousse and my husband went for the brownie with ice cream. We may have been stuffed, but there was no chance we were leaving any of it behind. Not on my watch.
The experience was so good, we immediately booked a reservation for next week to celebrate a birthday with my in-laws. Usually, when a restaurant is brand new, I expect a few hiccups while they find their rhythm. Not here. The Chophouse team has clearly thought through every detail. It's like they skipped straight to being seasoned pros.
Final thoughts: Coastal Chophouse is the Beyoncé of Sea Isle dining. If you're in town and don't go, we can't be friends. 11/10--would absolutely trade my beach chair for a booth here, any day...
Read moreWe recently dined at Coastal Chop House once again after a disappointing first time. Our second try was a complete opposite and our meals were so outstanding; what difference. So we enjoyed a lobster bruschetta special appetizer, wish fresh tomatoes & avocado and was fabulous. Our ribeye steaks were done perfectly, with delicious seasoning & a chimichurri topping, with delicious sides of mashed potatoes and sautéed mushrooms. The chocolate dessert was a fabulous finish to our dinner. The service was paced well and quite attentive; our server Aneecia, was so friendly & hands on by checking our table to be we had everything we needed to enjoy our meals. The owner came over to take time to thank us for visiting & made we had a great experience. It was so great we’ll definitely be there soon and being regulars. This is a great place...
