Fractured Prune Donuts - Sea Isle — Restaurant in Sea Isle City

We’re in Sea Isle City for two weeks and my 13 year old had an idea to do a donate taste test with our family (including extended family). Yesterday (7/5/25) we picked up 2 cinnamon Sugar and 2 iced donuts with sprinkles from 5 Sea Isle donut shops/bakeries: Shorebreak, Mallons, Maryanne’s, Duck Donuts and Fractured Prune. We decided against adding Acme and Blitz’ donuts. Donuts were cut into smaller pieces so up to 12 could participate. My 13-year old I and organized it so we did not count our votes.

It was a simple ballot. I expected Maryanne’s to take it because I love real bakery donuts. And their vanilla cream donut is out of this world. We couldn’t taste test that because not all shops have that donut. (Instead, everyone who did the taste test got a small of a piece of a Maryanne’s vanilla cream donut as a bonus.)

But… This review is about the Fractured Prune handily taking the 11-person taste test. Check out the cinnamon sugar tally: it wasn’t even close, and they cruised to a frosted victory, too. Those had vanilla icing with sprinkles

If you’re anywhere near Sea Isle City, the Fractured Prune is an absolute must-visit! This place is donut heaven. They truly have a flavor for everyone. From fruity glazes to decadent chocolate, crunchy toppings, and everything in between, their menu is a dream for donut lovers. You can pick from their amazing signature creations or build your own, which makes it even more fun.

I had their Boston cream donut and I can confidently say it was the best I’ve ever had. The dough was warm and perfectly soft, the cream filling was rich and velvety without being too heavy, and the chocolate topping was smooth and just the right sweetness. Every bite was pure perfection.

The donuts are made fresh right in front of you, the smell is irresistible, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. If you’re in Sea Isle City, do yourself a favor and stop at the Fractured Prune. You’ll be hooked from...

Extremely friendly staff, helped right away but also did not feel rushed ordering through an unknown menu. The cold brew was fantastic. The Pr egf&chz on a bagel was awesome and hot and the bagel was that perfect boiled bubbly perfection you only get in New York, light and chewy but crisp on the outside. The prune breakfast sandwich is on TWO donuts and it is absolutely huge and also phenomenal. Now the doughnuts. They’re light yet doughy and filling the outside doesn’t get mushy and they are fried hot to order. All the toppings are done afterwards which means any and all flavor combos are available, which I love. No looking at a menu online only to find the special flavor donut you’re looking for isn’t being made that day. I definitely recommend chocolate covered cherry but they’re ALL amazing.
