Let me start off by saying I would give this restaurant a zero if possible. Please make note while you read this that all these issues occurred during the OFF SEASON of a beach town. We arrived at our reservation 5 mins early and were seated at 6:30. We sat there for 20 mins waiting to be waited on. No one came even though the tables around us were being assisted. The waitress made eye contact with us but avoided us. Please note that it was a group of 3 of us who are young ladies around 25. Even though we look young we have good paying jobs, all have worked in the service industry, and should not have been ignored. No one came to our table nor did we have water. We waited ten more minutes and then had to go up to the hostess and ask that someone come and wait our table. The hostess was on her phone when we went up to talk to her about the lack of service. A flustered waiter finally came over to us and we finally got water for the first time. We ordered immediately and then our wait began again. We waited another 40 minutes and our waiter nor any other waiter who was working that area came to our table during that time. By this time we are totally out of water. Someone finally noticed that we still had no food and I saw her flag down our waiter to tell him. Our waiter ran back over and told us 10 more minutes for our food and finally refilled our water. Our food finally came out and we were so hungry and excited. Unfortunately, our pastas were undercooked and hard to eat. We picked at them and moved the food around our plates for a little bit and we’re upset that the $25 pasta was unfulfilling. No one came to check in and ask how our meals were or if we needed anything. To make matters worse during our dinner a table was rearranged to accommodate a large party. When the people sat down they blocked us in and basically sat on top of us. At this point we were annoyed and we had to ask the other table to please stand up so we could go talk to someone. The one lady at the table was elderly and could not easily move so they asked us to squeeze past her and our butts had to brush against her head. We again walked up to the hostess to ask to speak to a manager. Again she was on her phone! This place is packed and crazy busy and she’s standing there on her phone. She said the manager was outside waiting tables and he would be right in. Low and behold the gentleman who comes in is our waiter. However, we don’t talk to him because he is telling the hostess that he has to run to another table. So we get to talk to the chef. We explain our situation with the bad service and undercooked pasta. The chef tells us we are wrong because he doesn’t undercook pasta. Taste preferences I understand but do not tell me I am wrong. I was very unhappy with my experience and you are clearly unconcerned. After an unhelpful chat with him we ask the hostess who at this point is kind of moving around the room awkwardly to make herself look busy if we can have the check. There is no point going back to the table because I don’t want to ask the other table to stand up or awkwardly brush my butt on them as I try to squeeze past. As we stood there at the hostess stand waiting for the check I watched another table have to flag down their waiter to ask for the bill so they could leave.
I am assuming what happened is they saw that we had been there for an hour with no food and then rushed out order.
Overall don’t waste your time coming here or spending $25 on bad pasta. Definitely don’t complain about it or you’ll be told...
Read moreThis establishment is ill prepared and their staff members are rude. If I could provide no stars, i would. My fiancé, friend, and I sought to try La Fontana Coast in search of a restaurant to have our rehearsal dinner at, as it’s in close proximity to the venue we are getting married at in September. Upon arrival, the restaurant appeared short staffed as it took fifteen minutes for our actual server to touch the table. We ordered an appetizer we did not enjoy. After eating two bites of the appetizer, we placed the appetizer at the end of the table. Our waiter returned to the table to inquire if we ordered drinks. I apologized to the waiter, informed him that we did order drinks and that we didn’t enjoy our appetizer. The waiter appeared extremely annoyed and shrugged his shoulders, stating, “Well I’m not taking it off, what do you want me to do about it? You want me to wrap it up so your can take it home? I don’t know what you want me to do.” I informed him that it was fine, we didn’t want to take it home. He then became nasty and stated, “I’m not taking it off your bill but why didn’t you like it? Just wondering. Can you even tell me what you didn’t like about ? It’s cooked right.” I began to explain to him why I didn’t enjoy the appetizer and he began speaking over me. My fiancé then informed the waiter that we would be leaving, requested to pay for the appetizer, and our check. The waiter never returned to our table. A young lady who informed us that she was a server touched the table. She inquired about what transpired and offered to provide us with a different server. We informed her that we appreciated her effort but we would prefer to pay for the appetizer and leave. She then provided us our bill that included the appetizer and our entrees (however, we never received our entrees). My friend approached the hostess stand to request that he pay for the appetizer; however, we never received our entrees and he didn’t feel it was appropriate to pay for something he didn’t receive. The young lady appeared frustrated, giving my friend an attitude. As patrons who’ve worked within the service industry (I.e., bartenders and servers), we’ve never been spoken to in such a demeaning way and have never experienced such poor customer service. I had no issue paying for an appetizer that had been touched; however, the waiter’s rude and demeaning tone was inappropriate. I would not recommend that anyone eat here. Furthermore, I would advise that they hire servers and managerial staff that are better equipped to provide quality...
Read moreBeautiful restaurant, but that's it. Their prices are way off the charts for what you get...... took my son and DIL and GS there for dinner our last night on vacation. You are told to order within 15 mins of being seated as your dinner will take between 45-55 mins to prepare. NOTHING on the menu or what we ordered would take that long, nor did it. The two specials that we wanted were not available, and what we got was far below what was described on the menu. My wife got pasta with "some sea food" my daughter in law asked for shrimp on her pasta and she got three, THREE for an additional fee of $8. I ordered Osso Buco over a mushroom risotto, there were two mushroom slices and the risotto was nothing more than cooked rice. I've made risotto many times so I know how it should taste and what the texture should be..... for $50+ it should have knocked my socks off. The Osso buco was cooked well but had NO flavor, no seasoning. My wife also ordered the special salad for $20 and it was good, worth $8. If you go here bring both lungs all your other body parts, as you'll be paying with them, and ask HOW MUCH your dinner will be.... some things have prices some don't. I will NEVER go here again, it was way over priced for what they served and the atmosphere which was beautiful was NOT worth any of the money that was charged. Server was friendly but rushed and the runner who brought the food was down right rude, for this kind of money they should bend over backwards to serve you not drop the food on the table and tell you to hand it down. The place was busy but still service is service and great food is great food.... this was not great and less than average. I've had better meals at other restaurants for a lot less cost. This is a tourist trap for sure, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else unless you enjoy paying outrageous prices for average food. My grandsons spaghetti with sauce was very good...... small children's bowl for $11. Glass of iced tea and a soda $4.00 each..... prices are way out of line. Hope they come to grips with reality. I'm a food snob and don't mind paying top dollar for GREAT food, this was far from...
