El Almacen The Warehouse — Restaurant in Searcy

So, myself and my wife wrote 5 star reviews on this place back in March of 2017 on Yelp.

We have been coming here roughly once a month for the past 2 years. In those 2 years we have watched this place steadily decline and today was the last time we will be going there.

Here's the bad...

Greeted at the door and offered an upstairs seat. (The downstairs dining room was empty)

As soon as we were seated, the waitress failed to introduce herself and asked just "what do you want to drink?". She immediately got the drinks and as soon as she set them down asked "are you ready to order". There was literally 2 minutes from the time we sat until we were asked what we wanted to eat. Didnt even get to open the menus.

Ordered our meals. I got the "Guadalajara" which is according to the menu, a chicken burrito and a chicken enchilada with cheese sauce, lettuce, pico, sour cream and guacamole. I asked for NO sour cream and tomatoes instead of pico. When it was delivered it had sour cream so I asked them to fix it. They scraped it off and returned the plate. When I cut into it, it was filled with beef.

When I asked the waitress, she said it was because I didnt specify, and the beef is the most popular. The MENU said chicken...not a choice of. I sent it back and could hear the cooks and the waitress yelling about the order.

I asked for a manager and explained I had to sit and listen to the staff argue about the food they messed up. He seemed confused as to how that was inappropriate.

Food comes back out again and the plate is hot, but food was room temp. Seriously? You remake an order and dont even make sure it is hot???

Again, complained to the manager and he smiled, shrugged his shoulders and said "sorry" as he walked away.

I tried to go to bat for these folks when they were trying to get off the ground. Unfortunately, another start up is suffering and taking a turn for the worst.

Lot of CPR needed for this place...

It's fancy place ran by cheapskates. Not enough parking for the tables they have. Their portion sizes are like they feeding 4 year olds unless you like rice and beans then you'll have mounds upon mounds of the fillers. Their chips are commercial bag chips thrown in a warmer. Their size of cheese dip woulda had me walking out if they hadn't already took our order which took forever literally had a whole thing of salsa and chips before even got drinks or ordered... Their "regular" size dip isn't even a spoonful it's literally smaller than any other places small size....I ordered a chimichanga you the deep fried version of a burrito well I got a lightly toasted version all squishy instead of golden brown and crispy not to mention their size of a "burrito" is more like taco bells soft taco rolled up like a burrito.... Then their is the fajita steak you know the stuff that usually goes in a skillet with nice sear marks or just can tell been in a hot skillet well at this place it more like they threw all the meat in a huge pot of water and boiled it. Chewy and just nasty and literally smaller than the length of a hotdog... needless to say if anyone is in the batesville area go to los playitas and you'll realise why I'm so upset and disappointed... We shoulda went literally anywhere else and woulda had a better experience I didn't even eat my meal it was so bad... We WILL NOT EVER BE BACK.... Completely ridiculous and should be ashamed of how doing customers and charging that much for...

I am giving only one star because our delivery order was not even close to what we ordered from the online menu. I have food allergies and chose this restaurant because according to the menu it was a safe place to eat. They do not have correct menu items- ordered fried potatoes- they came covered in cheese. I had the grilled Salmon My hubby ordered Molcajete- no where was shrimp mentioned, it had shrimp. It also had chorizo sausage- pork, not wanted. We do not like pork so avoid eating it, we order dishes without pork. And we were in a motel so had the food delivered, they did not include silverware, what do we eat with? I called the restaurant and was nice, but explained they need to do a better job of listing things on the menu, they put me on hold…when the guy came back he said if we wanted to come pick it up they would redo the potatoes without the cheese and give us silverware. After waiting nearly an hour for the food and paying for delivery and tip it was expensive. Again I was polite but asked for at least part of our money back. He agreed and said his boss would take care or it, so far nothing. So do not trust the menu items to be true, and the quality of food...
