I recommend this new restaurant! Busy Friday evening at Tee Sud however, I was seated after 5 minutes of waiting. Staff were busy working seated tables which allowed a couple to get in front of me and be seated at the bar before I was able to be seated since staff were not actively attending to people as they came into the restaurant.
I started with their signature Teesud Lemonade. The freshness was unmatched in quite some time. You could tell not just from the presentation but the flavors that it was crafted with fresh ingredients. The honeycomb was a beautiful and tasty touch. Must recommend this signature lemonade.
I ordered the Drunkard Noodle with chicken medium spicy because they were out of the Eggplant special. The dish was served hot and fresh. Vegetablea were still firm providing an array of textures between the fresh soft noodles, chicken and fresh veggies. I was hesitant to bite into a cherry tomato in fear of burning my mouth however, they were a great temperature and I was not burned! When served my waitress explained the house pickled jalapenos if I wanted extra spice and a house made sweet and sour sauce. Which grew on me as I continued to try the sauce. I ended up pouring the sauce on the dish.
I attempted to order loose leaf hot tea but the secondary waitress who took care of me as well was new and may not have understood my request. I was served bagged green tea.
For dessert I ordered the mango sticky rice. Which was excellent and decadent. The photo says more than these words can express. Again the freshness was delivered in this dessert.
The gentleman who worked the bar went around the restaurant talking to people with a big smile and passion for the food and drinks ensuring people were well taken care and introducing people to various favorite foods and drinks. I however, did not get this privilege most likely due to dining alone. However, I can assure you as an observer that people enjoyed talking to this gentleman and he made sure not to linger at any one table.
The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was peaceful. The decor was simplified yet brought elegance and authenticity.
I will be back! :)
Came back on 5/25. Excellent quality food was still being served to the table. Got to try Grandmas Eggplant tonight and it...
Read moreI was highly disappointed in my second visit. I initially took my wife here about a month (lunch) ago after my colleague’s recommendation. That visit was great enough that I wanted to take my kids with us this time. Today's visit was bad enough that I ended up walking away from our table after sitting down for more than 35 minutes. When we walked in there, the staff was busy, and we could only see that only two tables were available. One of the staff asked for my party’s size (2+2) and told us she would sit us right away. While we waited for our table, another party (3) came in and asked for a table. After a few minutes, I noticed one of the staff members taking the order from the other table before us. It didn't bother me at that time, since the staff came to my table right after. While I was waiting for our order (shot rib fried rice, pad Thai, brisket curry, and drunkard noodles), I noticed the other table got their 3 plates of their order within 10–12 minutes. While I was patiently waiting for our food, the other table got their fourth plate even before our first. Looking at the clock on my iPhone, I've noticed it has been 34–36 minutes since we placed the order. I've lost my patience and asked for an update and my order from one of their staff. Instead of checking my order, this staff brought a male staff member (who claims he is the manager/owner) over to my table with a copy of my order. He shouted, "What is the problem?" Then he proceeded to tell us that he only had five people in the kitchen and was slammed with orders. When I mentioned that the later arrived party got their food way before and wanted to know why our food was not ready. Then he went on to say that he and I checked the security video footage since he knew the other party got here first. Not only that, I was 100% certain that we got into the restaurant before the other party. Not once was he apologetic about the delay and my concerns about out-of-order food orders. He simply didn't care.
To the manager/owner- I left my phone number with you so you can call me after you check out your video footage and see what...
Read moreBy far the best Thai food we’ve ever had. Everything on the menu looked absolutely amazing (when we could read it). The Drunkard Noodle and Pad Thai were just right.
Pro-tip: Bring a small flashlight, and maybe some binoculars. The menu is printed with narrow font black ink on dark brown paper and the restaurant is quite dimly lit - we don’t have problems with our eyes but we had to use the light of our phones so we could read the menu. They had what looked to be tasty and delectable specials on a chalkboard, but we had a similar problem as with the menu - difficulty reading it. We might have ordered one of the specials, except we couldn’t read many of them. Granted, we were sitting on the other side of the room so were in the worst vantage point, but the dark blue chalk on a black chalkboard in a dimly lit restaurant made it almost impossible to read unless you had a table right next to it - maybe it would have been easier if we’d had a table closer to it. I wish they’d offered a list of the specials on a small sheet of paper we could see them. We were easily able to read the specials that used yellow or white chalk.
While we didn’t order any drinks, their bartender looked quite talented, and the drinks being served up certainly piqued our interest. Maybe next time.
The wait staff was exceptionally friendly and provided excellent information and recommendations, but they seem to have a team approach, which meant we were visited by three people before ordering and four before we got our food. This was all fine, but the downside is that when our check came, we ended up having to wait a long time (20+ minutes) after dinner for someone to come back after they had given us the check so that we could then pay and leave (even though we saw as we left that they had several small groups waiting for an open table). Maybe the staff couldn’t see us in the dim lighting either?
This is a busy restaurant, clearly popular and doing good business. The food is top notch, and the staff friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended -...
