I hate giving less than 5 star reviews for salons but I didnât have a great experience. The appt started late but it wasnât a major deal since I wasnât in a rush. I told Samantha at the beginning about prior bad highlighting experiences I had. But unfortunately she repeated the same exact mistakes that I told her at the beginning. The entire experience felt a bit sloppy and rushed. There was highlighting product that was flung around and landing on my face, floor and the cape. Thereâs several parts of my hair that looked really grown out and didnât go to the roots like I wanted. Hair shouldnât look already grown out after being freshly done. The money piece in the front was done poorly and the sides looked really bad. I left the salon feeling good because it was styled and hard to notice until I washed it and pulled it back in a ponytail. She was a very kind and lovely person to chat with but I think needs some additional training. They did offer to have her fix it but I honestly donât feel comfortable going back. Also I got a spring special for $160 for a full foil but I only got a partial foil but got charged the full amount. I let it go at this point. Unfortunately I will not be coming back. I had to update: my hair looks and feels terrible since. Whenever I pull my hair back, all the highlight streaks look grown out already and theyâre unevenly done and patchy. My hair feels dried, brittle and unhealthy. Iâve had my hair highlighted since 16 and never had such poor results. I now have to pay more on top of what I did to get it fixed. Really bummed. Owner didnât offer to refund or take some of the money off for this but oh well....
Read moreI came here for a perm several days ago and would not recommend that service from this salon, though they seem to be talented at other hair treatments. The perm was set way off the scalp despite specifically saying I wanted something voluminous at the roots. I was immediately told when I entered that I needed a haircut because my hair was too long to perm (itâs not, Iâve had it done several times at this length) and some other comments that gave the impression there was little to no knowledge of perms. I felt unwelcome and like this service was a huge inconvenience to them which made me feel awkward about speaking up during the process.
I was told to sit upright in an uncomfortable reclined wash chair for 15 minutes while my perm processed and liquid dripped on my face. A towel was provided but none of the protection I have been given at other salons (cotton around the hairline, etc). After arriving home, I realized not all the solution had been washed from the back of my scalp and it started to burn later that evening in the area that had been closest to the washbowl. That same area at the nape now has mostly straight hair. I was charged over $50 for a 5 minute haircut that was shortening bangs and a âtrimâ that took off no length. Overall, the vibe and quality of work was not worth what was charged and I wonât...
Read moreWhen walking by (after hours) I saw a sign on the door in big bright white lettering that says âwe welcome walk-insâ. I called to make an appointment or ask how realistic it is to be seen as a walk-in, but no one to answer the phone during business hourâs. I stopped by & door was locked. Lady came to the door to see what I wanted & replied to my response with âwe donât do walk-inâsâ I never post negative reviews, but this is just bad customer service.
Update 8/12/2024 - through friend who is another customer I had been told that the owner positively responded to my experience. I can already tell this place will be a 5 star experience when the owner personally reaches out. Iâm sorry I didnât see the response sooner! The owner told my mutual friend she would totally take care of me and it was a former employee who had treated me this way. This is such a positive response that I felt the need to change my rating! So excited to get my haircut here...
