I dined at this restaurant last Saturday and had a great experience. I made a reservation for a group of 5, but when we arrived there was nobody else dining which set us off a bit but we were still excited to eat. The place was very dim and had a great vibe. Many large groups of people started to come in after we arrived. The owner immediately checked with us and made us feel welcome. He offered us a secondary menu of just Bangladeshi foods. The servers were all very kind and attentive.
We ordered two butter chickens, two tikka masalas, a prawn coco wala curry, 2 garlic naans, and the Bengal Tiger Delight which comes with two samosas, some salads and some tandoor chicken/lamb. The owner gave us 3 extra samosas since we were 5 at the table which was extremely kind.
The food came out in roughly 10 minutes. They accidentally brought us a chicken coco wala curry but it was so delicious. They didn't charge us for this and went to bring the prawn one instead. The butter chicken was great, the chicken was sliced rather than inside the tikka masala+chicken coco wala (large chunks). The garlic naan came a bit later but I assume they make it fresh so it took time. Everything was pretty spicy even though we only got a spice level of 2.
They had forgotten my tikka masala so they made it quickly but when it arrived, it was much waterier than the one my brother had ordered. I brought this to their attention and they offered to remake it as they said they were very embarrassed by this mistake (I know they just wanted to bring it out to me quickly as everyone else had almost finished) but I told the server I was already full from eating everything else. He insisted I could just take it to go. The server came back with a huge thing of rice and large portion of tikka masala, and we took leftovers from all of our other dishes as well.
Everything was really delicious and the employees here are all so kind and go above and beyond. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area (or outside the area, we came from 30 minutes away to try it). They have daily lunch buffets and even offer a dinner buffets every last Sunday of the...
Read moreI don't review places very often, but after seeing this place was 4.5 stars on Uber Eats and since I'm a hater I have to call it like I see it: this place is the worst place you can go for Indian food in all of Seattle. I am 90% sure the chicken they use in their butter chicken dish is from a bag (frozen, pre-sliced, pre-cooked). The chicken has no signs of being grilled, fried, baked, etc. (Is it microwave or reheated?) it has a uniform color and texture, as well as mechanical and unsettling sameness of the thickness of each slice. The temperature did not match the actual curry's temperature. It has an almost slimy outside texture but yet is dry on the inside. The pieces of chicken are awkwardly long just like the bag chicken and flops around in the sauce like it's been dead for over a year (it most likely has). This is not what a restaurant should be serving, considering I, a normal person with no professional cooking experience can make a better dish at home for 20% of the cost. It tastes like that chicken you buy from Costco in a giant bag when you don't have much money and need to make food last for months--CHEAP. It is absolutely flavorless as well, the curry tastes like an imitation of something you might find at another Indian restaurant (I won't speak on Indian authenticity because all I have tried here was butter chicken) It makes me think the business owners simply don't care about the quality of their food, which is a shame. At this point in time save your money and eat elsewhere, I won't suggest another place, but let's just say if you're a Seattle native you know where you can get better Indian food. Hope to see this place go through a Kitchen Nightmares-esque rehaul....
Read moreI've been going here for over 25 years, and they are still my absolute favorite Indian restaurant. The food is outstandingly good. The owner and staff are personable and professional. The place is clean and it just feels good to be there. I walk in and know that I am gong to be taken care of. Throughout Covid when in-person dining was closed, we made a point of getting take-out from here because we are invested in their success. There's maybe 8 other Indian restaurants around Seattle that I've visited, and countless more in other states. None hold a candle to this place on SO many levels. Their Malai Kofta is to die for. When we moved farther away, we still make the longer drive to go back here. When we have friends or family visiting, this is the place we take them, and for good reason. Portions are ample, and everybody goes home fully satisfied with a quality meal that reminds us of what a restaurant is supposed to be. The ONLY detraction is parking, especially with local construction. Go to the park-and-ride on 65th and walk the two blocks. It's well worth it, and you'll be so stuffed after visiting that the walk will help on...
