I wanted to love this place. The service wasn't great. But 4.4 stars with 400+ reviews seemed good. It's my fault I didn't look at the 1 star reviews, and I never not look at them before trying a new place ever again. There are multiple people advising having COCKROACHES in their food. And they aren't lying. I already have submitted a complaint with the Washington Healh Department FNIS - but I have to do my own due diligence and warn people. When we started eating, the food was delicious, and when the last dish was dumplings was brought out (shrimp dumplings) we had the ultimate shock of a baby COCKROACH cooked into the dumpling skin. When we alerted the worker they weren't overly shocked, they yelled for another worker and spoke in a language I didn't understand, most likely discussing the cockroach that was found in our food. We had already eaten so much and I felt absolutely nauseated and disgusted. The worker refused payment of any type of payment, apologized many, many times and rushed us out of the restaurant. I couldnt in good conscience not leave a public review. And I hope I don't receive any kind of retaliation for it. People deserve to know when places are infested with bugs. I hope they pay exterminaters, and get it together. If it wasn't for the cockroaches, I would've eaten there again, but alas I will not...
Read moreMy husband and I went on a weekend, I wanted to try this place out because they had pretty good reviews (should've seen the 1 star reviews too 😔) . They seated us quickly since there was a table open; it was dirty but they quickly cleaned up so we can sit. It was after 25-30 mins they finally took our order, mind you, I also was trying to flag down a waitress but instead she ignored me and served the table next to us and behind us. There was even one when I said "We're ready to order" and I made sure to not sound rude (even though I was getting ignored the entire time) just in case they wanted to ignore us even more. We finally ordered and the food was decent. It was coming out slow, and since I didn't want to wait for another 20 mins to order food again, we just ordered 4 plates of dim sum and just paid and left.
If you want a proper Dim Sum experience, make sure the place has a waiter either pushing a cart of dim sum on it, or a big tray of food and just going up and asking folks if they want to try. This place has neither. Will not be going back again. You're better off going into...
Read moreAverage quality, moderately priced dim sum with friendly service in a very casual setting. The paper plates, disposable chopsticks and tea bagged tea is a good indication that you're going to have 'just ok' dim sum in this small-ish space. Most people get to go here, and besides an older Chinese couple, we were the only ones eating in from 9:30-10:30am on a Sunday. The food was mediocre, but not bad. The sticky rice ($3.75 for 2 packets) and (garlic) green beans ($8) were hot, fresh and delicious; everything else was just so-so. Avoid the bake mix-tasting BBQ pork steamed buns and the jelly-like filling in the BBQ pork pastries. Prices aren't really that cheap compared to places like Harbor City (which is my favorite for downtown Seattle dim sum). We spent about $55 including tax, but before tip, for three us, so around $20 a head. However, if you're in the Beacon Hill area and craving dim sum, this place will satisfy you in a pinch. Good service from the all-female Cantonese-speaking waitstaff who were very nice to us...
