This sushi bar has great prices and great quality sashimi and easily one of my favorite additions to the neighborhood. They offer an "all night" happy hour, which is just a nice way of saying that their usual everyday menu is slightly smaller than your typical sushi bar and the prices of what's on the menu is more in line with happy hour prices. Their menu includes well priced sets of sashimi or nigiri sushi, a small variety of special rolls, and dishes from the kitchen including japanese favorites such as chicken karaage and takoyaki. I routinely get both the agedashi tofu and takoyaki which are both delicious. They recently started offering chef's specials also, which include specials from the kitchen (such as grilled shishito peppers) and larger special rolls. The combination of quality and price is hard to beat, so there can sometimes be a crowd. Expect a short wait for a table on Friday and Saturday nights. I usually sit at the bar which has a couple of seats available much of the time. Speaking of which, warm or cold sake, draft beer, and...
Read moreMaybe I came on a bad night, but I really don't think this place deserves its current 4.4 Stars... Spent $50 on 3 rolls of sushi and bad service!!! I basically hate the place now. Waited 40+ minutes to get my food. During this time, waiter and host had not said anything to us whatsoever, no apologies for the wait, no asking us if we needed anything, not even checking in with us. They were very busy, which I understand is very stressful when understaffed (?). We were just about to leave as the food got to us. We got 2 chef specialty rolls (mango samurai, and some Alaska-named one) and a grilled eel roll. We were severely disappointed. For $50, these rolls were just "okay." The sauces on them were overwhelming and you really couldn't taste the fish. We were still hungry when we finished and could not be bothered to order more. I put 2 stars because this environment seemed more appropriate for if you wanted drinks and socializing, not eating. Also, "happy hour" is just their...
Read moreHoly awesome. I live in Northgate and we wanted to try to find a not conveyor sushi place. I saw the pics on Google Maps, and thought it looked expensive from the pics.
When we got there it was happy hour, so ithat was a little cheaper than usual. Even still, this place is NOT expensive, and it's some of the best sushi I've ever eaten.
These guys destroy all of the local chain Sushi restaurants and the price is very comparable. If it is expensive at all, it's definitely worth the extra money, because the price increase is not linear to the quality increase.
We took our kids unfortunately, lol, but it has a quiet and romantic atmosphere with a nice big bar with some good beers and a killer lychee cocktail.
We ordered a good amount of food, a beer, a cocktail, and even desert for 2 adults and a kid, and without the alcohol ito would have been under 40 dollats.
Wherever you are going for sushi, stop going there...
