Let's start with the good stuff! The vibe isn't terrible. It looks clean and smells good, so it was nice from the moment we entered the door. But it took a turn for the worse as we were seated....

We were seated as for from any light as was possible in the very large and well-lit interior. Big beautiful glass windows and we were seated near the restroom and the closet. The place was literally empty, so it was very strange... Maybe they didn't like how we looked? The server has no personality to speak of and didn't say 10 words to us, which was impressive, but not the right flavor of impressive.

We ordered karaage, the YOPPARAI! roll, and the Genki roll. The karaage came first, which was appreciated, but every piece was smaller than my thumb 👎🏽. The YOPPARAI! roll was incredibly disappointing... I expected a big, gorgeous roll at $30, but it was a very small roll (not centered on the plate) covered with a pile of mediocre fish cubes. It was completely sauced out and a little spicy (not as advertised). It was smaller than the Genki roll, which was $17. The Genki roll was the most attractive entree by far, but still just not very refined and too much sauce.

Had the service been a little better I might have been able to identify some value, but I couldn't find much as it is. YOPPARAI! means DRUNK! in Japanese and I think you might need a few drinks in you to really enjoy this place.

Note: the chefs looked very friendly, but we couldn't even see them from our...

I'm perplexed. I've worked in sushi restaurants for years and have never eaten sushi as bad as this. Seriously. I ordered a classic California roll and a spicy tuna roll. By principal, these should be tasty and consistent as they are two of the most popular rolls. They were anything but tasty.

The California roll: lacked all flavor. The rice to meat ratio was too much. The roll was small and overwhelmed with rice on the outside. This made it hard to enjoy any flavor from the meat on the inside.

The spicy tuna roll: this has to be a joke. I ordered my food to go and the server told me when she handed me the bag that the spicy sauce for the tuna was in the bag. What?!? I was confused and assumed she meant there was extra spicy sauce on the side, but no. When I got home and opened the box with the roll in it, I discovered that the chefs indeed didn't mix the minced tuna with the spicy mayo, leaving it on the side. I didn't ask for that. Never in my life have I ordered a spicy tuna roll and it was a regular tuna roll - on purpose!! I don't know what they are thinking with that strategy, but it completely defeats the purpose of the spicy tuna roll.

All things considered, I won't be going back. The prices were high and the quality was so poor. I...

I went here for lunch, shortly after 3 pm. I was not provided with a happy hour menu, though the door says it is from 3-6 pm. The atmosphere was lovely, although the restaurant was devoid of other patrons.

I ordered two rolls, and they were of quality I would expect for the price.

A few things made me not rate this establishment with high stars.

First, after my order was taken, and it took at least 20 minutes to receive my rolls. I could be wrong, but this seemed a bit long for a restaurant with literally no other customers.

When my food arrived, I asked for more Wasabi (I love Wasabi!) I received a small amount, directly out of the pastry bag. Had it been generous, instead of paltry, I'd have felt differently. I also didn't have a separate dish to pour soy sauce into.

I was not checked in on until the server brought the bill. I understand people are busy, but if I had an issue with my food, it wouldn't have been addressed until the end of my visit.

I usually don't ever, not leave a tip, but in this case, I felt justified doing so. I truly can't tell you the last time I haven't tipped, even at Subway! I felt mostly ignored, and I was disappointed spending 40 dollars for 1...

I live nearby and recently decided to try their happy hour. I was surprised to find only three items on the happy hour menu – not what I would consider a true happy hour selection. I ordered the gyoza, priced at $6 during happy hour, but the regular menu offers six pieces for $8, so it didn't seem like much of a deal. Still, the gyoza were excellent and perfectly fried. They do offer happy hour drinks at decent prices. I tried the crunch roll and was pleasantly surprised by the delightful crunchy toppings. I’ve heard from friends that their chicken wings are excellent, so I’ll be returning to try those on my next visit! The service was fine nothing to complain about. The kitchen staff even greeted me once I walked through the door but I was the only person in there. Great seating areas and very welcoming.
