Rickshaw Restaurant & Lounge — Restaurant in Seattle

I love this place to death. Sure, it's rough around the edges... But the people really make it a special little unassuming spot. Aury is an amazing KJ who cares a lot about what she does - which you can hear especially when she hops on the mic and sings her heart out. Amber works her butt off, makes a mean old fashioned, and does what shes gotta do to make sure her customers are safe - tip her well, for God's sake, she deserves it. The regulars are a rag tag bunch of characters who are always a pleasure (shout to Big Al, always the highlight of karaoke). I cant eat much that's on the menu, but the fries hold me down just fine - always well-seasoned! Overall, this place has some alluring magic to it that you would never guess just by looking at it, and it makes for quite the hidden gem. If karaoke at a divey spot is your thing, look no further than the Rickshaw... And I'll see you there...

If you want mediocre food - this is the place. owners also don't care about the neighborhood they're in. They love to use a pressure washer at 1AM to clean their equipment outside the restaurant (super loud with windows closed), even though there are plenty of apartments, houses and townhouses right next to it. Last night this went on for over an hour and a half. Lucky for them the police no longer has the time to deal with noise complaints, and they couldn't come to issue them a fine. Obviously cleaning your equipment with loud pressure washed in the morning before opening hours would make too much sense so they do it in the middle...

Everything was actually great. Deducting 1 star for management (?). There was 1 food runner and 1 bartender for the full house of people (at least 35 people?) Those girls rocked it, don't hear me wrong, but management needs to make sure they're staffed appropriately to handle the karaoke crowds and/or adjust their wages to make sure they can retain staff because if you have booths, you should also have a waitress to take orders. Such a beloved spot though, wide range of foods, good for drinking (or not) and singing karaoke! Best dish I've had is Prawn Chow Mein with some donuts...
