Now I don't hate Denny's. I have reviewed them much kinder in the past and I'm sure I will again in the future but for this particular trip it was definitely a one star and we never even made it to a table. Number one while it was great that they opened for Christmas for people who didn't have family to spend it with or just didn't feel like eating at home, don't open for Christmas if you can't handle it. This is the second time I've been to Denny's where they were so understaffed and disorganized that they could not handle the business at all. We got there and there was a line at the door. The waiting area was full but I went in to check in. People were trying to social distance but couldn't very well where they were. it took about 10 to 15 minutes before someone came to the desk to check me in. You can see the entire dining room and only about a third of the tables had people sitting at them possibly even less. I gave my name and stood in the foyer instead of inside on the crowded area. The people that were ahead of us kept leaving. I thought that's great we're moving closer to the top of the list. Then more left. A few more people came in behind us. In all of this time no one was seated. We were there for about 45 minutes when a a family of four came in. Everyone else was following guidelines, wearing their masks, and doing their best to social distance but the family of four walked in completely maskless, their kids walking up into your space then they all crowded into the waiting area to check in. The father promptly proceeded to give staff a hard time about not seating them because of the empty tables. First a gentleman at the counter tried to tell them it was for social distancing which it clearly wasn't because they were far beyond what Denny's was doing when they were following the social distancing rules. And as the ride maskless man pointed out the waiting area was not social distanced at all. The couple that had come in right before us left and said that they had overheard people at a table say that they had been there for 2 hours and while seated had not been served. Then the angry family left that had just come in saying that IHOP was open to everyone and went on their way. Another couple came out and said that the people at the counter had just told them that it would be at least an hour before they seated anyone else as there were only two servers and the kitchen was backed up. Even with two servers and a slow kitchen staff I don't know how they could not have handled the orders for the amount of people who are actually sitting at tables even if they had all sat down at exactly the same moment. It was the a joke. I felt terrible for the several groups of elderly people who had been ahead of us that had been sitting for an hour or more and then had to give up. I mean really if you can't handle a dozen tables don't even bother to open your doors because I would be surprised if they had more than a dozen...

Read moreI would give 0 stars if I could! My friend and I went in on April 2,2019 and I went to the side counter to ask for a napkin to wipe my seat off. The young lady proceeded to go get some napkins for me and as I stand there watching I saw a waitress ( with her bare hands) pick up several pancakes off of a plate that was for a customer toss them around and then put them back on the plate at this point the other waitress was returning with my napkin and I said 'are you serious' she replied "what'? So I explained and she asked if I wanted a manager I said yes. No sooner than she was going around the corner to get the manager she looked back and saw that same waitress touching more pancakes with her bare hands. I look at her and said 'You saw that right'? So she must have told the manager Eric, because when he came out he said to me 'I will handle it and give her gloves' I sat and watched her serve those same pancakes to a customer! So we left immediately and I called and spoke with Eric as to why he didn't make new pancakes for the customer and let those go out. He gave me the I didn't know they served!! I told him to rewind his tapes and see for himself! Last time EVER EATING AT A DENNY'S! Wonder what the Health Department would say when they see the video! Oooooh how I wish I could upload it to this review! Way to go Eric You dropped the ball!...
