Goody's Steak Burgers — Restaurant in Sedalia

Oh man where to begin on this one. Came in sat down, took 15 mins to get just a drink order, I get it, it was slammed when I went in but by the time we had our drink orders there were only 2 other tables still at the restaurant so it slowed way down. Drinks came about 5 ish minutes later. She took our order no issues there. We ordered an appetizer. Crab Rangoon being we were told it was good. It took 45 mins to get just the appetizer with a close to empty restaurant. Here is where it gets bad, the outside shell was warm and soaked with oil not crispy and the creamy center was cold as if it was only thawed and then put on a plate. Me and my wife were hungry from doing stuff all day with the kiddos so we ate it instead of complaining. Took another 25 mins to get our meals we ordered nothing fancy just chicken tenders with fries and a Philly cheese steak and fries. The philly was fine it was ok tasting but the biggest issue we had were the tenders my wife ordered her some and my child had the child's portion. When she got the tenders they were ALL cut in half as if they didn't trust their cooking. She dried it and they were filled with oil, so they were cut seen they were not fully cooked and stuck all pieces cut in half back in the oil. They tasted awful and the batter was HARD. I went to pay and I was asked if everything was ok I said no the appetizer was cold as if it wasn't cooked fully and the chicken tenders were all cut in half and double fries so they were just greasy. The only response was the total and "that's unfortunate but we did just change oil so it might not have been up to temp yet" and they immediately walked away (this was about 430pm to 6pm). I will not be coming back here they cooked our food in a deep fryer that was not up to temp to cook any of the food which could have made us sick. If they would have told us they to need to change the oil in the fryers I would have been like ok cool we can go somewhere else, instead they didn't say anything, took our orders and tried to cook our food in oil that was not at the correct temp and served us cold under cooked food and double fried greasy tenders that were disgusting and the only thing they would have been good for is to lubricate my insides, and this incident could have caused any of us to have food poisoning with...

My husband LOVES a good burger and considers himself a good judge. This joint has 4.5 stars, so we thought we'd stop for lunch. One server at 2 pm, about 6 or 7 tables full. 3 or 4 younger people in the back, no came to help her except to bus the tables. We had great hope for a wonderful lunch, but it was just okay. He had a double cheeseburger w/fries. Look at the meat, it tasted good, but its appearance was odd. Very thin patties. Fries were a mix of undercooked and overcooked. My all beef hot dog was topped w/chili, cheese & onions. The bread was cold, the chili was okay, and the hot dog was over microwaved on one end. It was more like beef jerky than a beef hotdog. The onion rings were pretty well cooked but were at least hot. My ice tea was a big glass of tasteless brown water. The restaurant is brightly decorated with all kinds of cool rock & roll memorabilia. Fun music, a cute place to eat.

Caution - There are only 2 restrooms, one for the ladies and one for the men. They both open directly into the dining room and into the tables....yikes! The two stars were for the young server who never stopped hustling the entire time...

I am only rating Goody's one star because the way that the manager treated her staff while my 6 year old was present. Our waiter a young blonde girl was fabulous and was so kind. The food was great as always. However, my family and I was the last customers in the restaurant. We went to the cash register ready to pay and we notice that there is a "team meeting" in progress. It wasn't a meeting at all, it was the manager a woman with dark hair in her 40s or 50s dropping the F bomb at least 7 time (I counted during the time in standing there with my 6 year old). She told her staff that she doesn't care about them and they are only people she works with. Started degrading them and talking about smoking weed. All while the staff stood there calm and taking it. This went on for a while.

The manager needs to be reevaluated about her position there. The staff doesn't deserve to be treated so poorly. If I worked there I would walk out.

Please Goody's do something and stick up for your staff. Again the food was great and our waitress (young blonde) was wonderful.
