Papa Jake's Donut — Restaurant in Sedalia

Im a very picky donut person, years of searching for that perfect childhood flavor of donuts from cider mills in Michigan. And dissapointmet set in donut bite after donut bite, how depressing and chalky, airy and tasteless donuts had become. From time in the military traveling I thought for sure I would find it, each new place I moved and on the hunt for that perfect donut I thought I could only get at cider mills. But here no one has them. As I tryed more donuts I accepted perhaps my taste buds had changed with age. Each donut glibber and glibber. My hope for the perfect donut comes every fall with the craving thats rarely met so I settle for Entenmanns plain donuts. But one day we drove thru our friends at Tiger coffee and there was ladies handing out free donuts from Cedar Crest. I was so excited to have tasted the perfectly balanced cake donut I had not had in years. We went there late two times there on after and missed out. This day hubby surprised me with a full box. And they are 120% what memories are made of. Such goodness. The taste superb. I wanted to cry. I finally found my perfect donut. And my kids and hubby finally knew I was not crazy about how I'll most other donuts had tasted. Thank you Papa Jake's for such a great experience and affordable donuts. My mom used to buy their donuts for me sometimes in the mornings before school and on sundays. We lived on 16th, so I passed by this little shop every morning on my way to my elementary school next door and walked by it walking home so it's kind of a nostalgic place for me as a 27 year old. Not sure why other people are saying old donuts, I’ve gotten here at 11 AM an hour before close and their donuts were fresh and great. Best glazed donuts and donut holes in town! Plus they make them every morning fresh. Also, why would you expect a donut place to constantly stay open until 12 PM, they sell out very quickly because these are the best donuts in town. They usually have donuts until around 10-11AM, but sometimes get sold...
