Truly, one of the worst meals I have had in my 35 years. I got bad vibes just placing my phone reservation and felt equally uneasy walking around this place to find the host. Against better judgment, wife and I started with $26 margaritas. Hard pass on the laughable "market price" cocktail which I have literally never seen on a restaurant or bar menu in my life. The waiter immediately advised our drinks would be very sweet and recommended something else, unprompted. I was in the mood for a sweet cocktail, so why not? He wasn't kidding - cloying mixed drink with 90% simple syrup and a drop of tequila. Red flags abound. Should have bailed when we heard the music and read the bizarre menu. At this point we were committed, and willing to give a second chance. $98 steak entree? We ordered some basic appetizers and burgers. Our food came in a timely manner but every other aspect of this meal was completely and utterly hopeless. Stale bread, flavorless dip, frozen fries, all around sadness. Everything clearly microwaved or frozen or pre-prepared. The elote corn was slathered with what seemed like an entire jar of mayonnaise, and no cheese. I ordered the safest thing on the menu and got an overcooked bland beef patty hilariously misproportioned on an old brioche bun with very strange sauce. The bean side dish was like... What is going on here? You have been warned. $200 for two felt like an actual scam. This establishment and whoever runs the kitchen should be ashamed. Spend your money literally anywhere...
Read moreWe ate here a few times during our stay at Enchantment. I have to say, our first experience (this review) was lacklustre at best. Clearly the b-team (as opposed to the staff in the sister restaurant), staff here are disorganized, frantic, unhelpful and unfriendly. Honestly, if you told me they all started that day and hadn’t been trained yet, I’d believe it. All the way from the unfriendly maître D, through to our server- unpleasant is being kind. The food that evening was just ok.
It doesn’t help that, after asking to be moved to a table inside (the outdoor heaters just don’t do the trick), we were dumped at the worst table in the place. Still in the line of fire from the cold blowing wind through the open door, the “booth” consists of two benches that only a giant could be comfortable at. With our mouths at table height, well, you get the picture. I don’t put names in my reviews of staff that have let me down - that’s just mean spirited. You know who you are -maybe you can pick up your game.
On another note, Matt and Shanea, husband and wife bartenders, treated us to a fun last night at the resort. We were enjoying their company so much, we decided to eat at the bar. What a great idea- and made for a great evening. Thank you Matt and Shanea - you two are...
Read moreFantastic spot to stop in for a bite. Located inside the Enchantment resort, you must tell the gate staff that you are here for the Tii Gavo restaurant. Once inside, you head up to the restaurant area where a valet will park your vehicle if you choose. Then you proceed through an ivy arch into the lobby of the resort and just a bit further to Tii Gavo. Seating is offered indoors and outdoors, and I sat outside. The views are beautiful. Unlike most locations in Sedona, Tii Gavo offers an unadulterated view of the vast red stone cliff sides. Lizards crawled up a wall nearby, accentuating the outdoors, natural feel of the patio. For food, my group ordered appetizers - guacamole and elote. Oh my goodness! Both were generous portions and delicious. It was my first time having elote, a dish of grilled corn, cheese, cream, peppers, and spices made for dipping/scooping with tortilla chips. It had a warm, creamy texture with pops of sweetness from the corn. Fantastic. The guacamole was pretty good too. Overall, highly recommend coming out to Tii Gavo despite the ~five mile excursion required from the...
