This cafe has room for a lot of improvement! It could be a great place for coffee if they make some needed changes. They offer lunch with sandwiches but no chips. This makes no sense to me. If I'm going to go there for lunch for a sandwich, I want it with chips. Even Starbucks offers chips and other sides to go with sandwiches. Then, they need to have salsa to go with their breakfast tacos. You cannot have tacos without salsa. They also need to add breakfast sausage to their croissant sandwiches and tacos. Not everyone likes bacon! And most people do not want just eggs and cheese! Also, when they make their ice cream shakes, they use too much milk so that you cannot taste the flavor of the ice cream. I had a mint chocolate chip shake and I was so excited to try it and was greatly disappointed. Too much milk...the shake had no flavor. Finally, their ice cream sandwiches. Whoever owns or opened this place should have done their research on ice cream cookie sandwiches. The cookies are way too hard for an ice cream sandwich. When I bit into mine, all the ice cream came out..because the cookie was too hard. Also, the ice cream should be scooped with a big round scoop so when you bite into it...it doesn't all come out! They put a thin layer of ice cream between the cookies. So it all comes out. I've had ice cream sandwich cookies at other places: The Baked Bear, Insomnia Cookies, even Marble Slab and there is always a big, round, scoop of ice cream in between 2 soft, chewy, and delicious cookies. The ice cream never comes all the way out when you bite into it. The cookies are not hard. So....I think if this place makes these improvements, they will survive. The cookies were good on their own, but too hard for an ice cream sandwich! I hope they make and add these changes because we need a place like this in Seguin. I will still keep going to On the Grind down the street. I think if they keep things the way they are, they will not stay open, which would be sad. Because I had such high hopes for this cafe. Their baked goods were good.
Maybe it's because me and my family are not from Seguin. Because I see a lot of people Loving the place! All I can say is maybe because they are all from Seguin. Most local restaurants in Seguin are weird and I guess this one will not be any different. I would love to have one local Seguin restaurant that was good enough to keep going to. The only place I've found is On the Grind. They are really good, but they don't have a variety of goodies to go with their drinks. This is why I was excited for Beyond Coffee. I drive by there on my way to work. But, I'm disappointed that I won't be going there for a coffee and something good to eat with my coffee. I was hoping for breakfast tacos and/or sandwiches, but all they have are tacos/sandwiches with bacon or just a plain egg and cheese 😟.
Me and my family got ice cream sandwiches, shakes, and coffee drinks. I went earlier in the day for breakfast to get a coffee and a sandwich but got a coffee and scone....which was good. But don't want to keep eating scones. My sister and my brother in law were very disappointed and said they would never go back. And I probably will not either, unless the changes I talked...
Read moreA friend and I stopped in here, during a trip from Florida to Arizona. We hit a coffee shop in virtually every state in which we crossed. After having looked up "best coffee shop near me" this location came up. It's a small shop, in a small town, with a HUGE bang for your buck. I had the pleasure of being greeted by the beautiful smiling faces of two young women, Ali, and C.J. The whole experience, atmosphere, of not only the shop, but the town as well. , we're a breath of the freshest air I've experienced this trip. I asked for a surprise drink, they were happy to oblige. It was The most superb coffee I've ever had, same goes for the pastries. Baked fresh every morning, by a fine young gentleman named Arin. Their team could easily be recruited to the highest end area of New York, as well as could easily charge 4 times the amount they do. 10/10 would...
