El Charro de Seguin — Restaurant in Seguin

My family and I visited this little restaurant this morning for brunch and we were so impressed! This place has delicious food and excellent service! Our drinks were never left unfilled and needs were never left unmet. Several staff offered refills frequently and checked in at our table to make sure all was well. I honestly don't think I've ever had such great service before. It definitely caught my attention!

We started with the chips and salsa, and you could tell the both were house made and fresh. I wanted to steal their whole bottle of salsa! We had a family of 5 and all five dishes were absolutely divine. My son's chimichanga was the very best though. I will get one next time. Either way, I don't think anything on their menu could possibly disappoint.

In my ongoing quest to find the best Huevos Rancheros, I stopped in at El Charros. Sadly, they don't serve Breakfast after 2pm. I looked around the place and it's not fancy at all, but the food and the price looked good so I stayed and ordered the Taco Salad. The Breakfast prices started at 6.99 and the lunch and dinner prices started at 10.99. The Taco Salad could be ordered with either chicken or beef. I ordered the chicken. It came with lots of chicken, Avocado and cream cheese. It was a lot of food and not because I ate a lot of chips and hot sauce..;) However, I could have. The hot sauce was the best I have had in a long time. It was spicy but didn't burn my mouth up. So, I was able to enjoy the flavor and get a nice kick. I'm still looking for good Huevos Rancheros. First time trying today. I liked the walk up window to order to go. The service was quick and friendly. And I thought the price was fair and reasonable. Two breakfast tacos and one sm. menudo. $15.96. The salsa isn’t very hot but has spice, great flavor. I would say the perfect salsa to share, like a happy medium. But I like hot hot salsa for my tacos. The cheese isn’t shredded cheese but a cheese wiz or Velveeta, of some kind. The menudo has plenty of meat in it and some posole. I like to add oregano to mine but when I tried it, instantly thought it needed more flavor in the broth. Like not enough salt, that marinated taste in the broth.
