If you don’t want to read this entire review here’s the point: long wait times, mediocre service, higher than average prices and they will ALWAYS get your order wrong. If you are passing through DO NOT waste your time or your money unless you enjoy a thorough disappointment. I have eaten at King’s Row several times a year over the last 9 years and have never felt that the food was that great. As a result of moving to selah a year ago I have frequented the establishment much more often. Despite my past experiences I tell myself things like, “it’s locally owned” or “I’m sure they’ll get it right this time” because in reality who wants to leave town or get a burger from the Golden Arches. So last year I decide to take my nephew to King’s Row for a bite to eat prior to driving to Seattle. With only two cars ahead of us we pull into drive-through lone and place our order. He is pretty picky so for him it’s a hamburger with nothing in it but ketchup, a small order of fries and a small chocolate shake while I order a small fry and a cheeseburger without tomato and fried onions instead of raw. Twenty seven minutes later we finally get up to the window to pay and get our order. If you’re wondering how we came up with 27 minutes I texted his mom after the order was placed saying we were about to leave town. When we finally made it to the window I texted her again saying the service had been slow and we would be in our way shortly. At the window I paid and reassured my young nephew his food would be ready any minute now. When the cashier finally returned to the window there was no apology for or mention of the extreme wait time we had endured. Instead a small milkshake and a brown paper sack were handed through the window. Having had problems with my orders on nearly every occasion I checked the bag to ensure our orders were correct, they were not. Inside the paper bag was a small fry and a regular cheese burger. Missing was a second order of fries and a plain burger for a now famished 7 year old. Once we had the attention of the cashier again I proceeded to explain that half our order was missing and the burger we had received was not prepared with any of the special changes requested. Again no apology or promise to fix it. They simply muttered, “hmm” and closed the sliding window. Several minutes later the cashier returned and presented us with a brown paper sack containing our missing fries and the plain hamburger. Since that time I have ventured back for the kinds of reasons mentioned above, but definitely not for the quality of the food or the service or sheer timeliness of the experience. On every subsequent visit since the. The wait times have remained long and the order is ALWAYS incorrect. I stopped by on my way out of town again today and I can ensure you it will be the last time I give this establishment my business. My order of two identical burgers were not only not as ordered, but they were not identical. This establishment is a local institution and I will do nothing to dissuade locals from eating here. However if you are passing through DO NOT waste your time or your money unless you enjoy a thorough...

Read moreIf you're looking for an old-school, flat-top burger, you've selected the correct place! Just stop now and go here.
I got a double cheeseburger... and it was fresh off the flat-top (or whatever they use) - double-meaty, super moisty, cheesy, and the toppings (Lettuce, tomato, onions and special sauce) were the perfect compliment to the rich meat and cheese. I honestly don't know what they do to make their burgers great, but it seems to work.
The fries were solid, but the onion rings really shined as something special. They were just done in all the correct ways. No slippery onion sliding out of the breading - everything stayed together, was well seasoned and they even included fry sauce for free in the bag without having to ask. THATS GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. The fry sauce was great and it's stupid cheap to make. Why make it a hassle for people?
The shake was great, too! I got chocolate - it was classic: sweet, chocolatey, and thick. Almost too thick to suck through a straw at first - that's the way it should be.
Service was semi-quick (not uncannily fast like McDonalds, not annoyingly long), but you knew they were actually making food, so no complains here. I accidentally overpaid by $5, and the nice cashier actually hunted me down in the parking lot to give it back to me. Seriously stellar! I never would have known! They have a nice shaded area in the back if you want to eat there... It looked like a lot of people just parked and ate in the car on this particularly warm day.
I didn't try the garbage burger because it wasn't explained on the menu, but I wish...
