Read moreI love thai food, especially pad thai. In fact I love pad thai so much that the first thing I do when I visit a new area is see what thai restaurants are around just so I can quench my uncessant need for that savory peanut infused dish I love so much. Because of this, I've had just about every shade of pad thai you can think of, I've had good pad thai and I've had bad pad thai, I've had sweet, salty, spicy, nutty, tangy, and even pad thai that tasted exactly like msg (was surpringly pretty good).
However, I've never had a pad thai that tasted like absolutely nothing, until now anyway. I feel somewhat guilty since the serving size was indeed quite generous, but I legitamately thought I had caught the Rona virus when I tasted the noodles with no feedback from my taste buds. I quickly stood up and sipped my thai tea (which was good) to find out I was okay, I took another bite praying to the heavens that it was a fluke, but alas, it was not. I was heartbroken... My big plate of noodles taunted me as to deny me my satisfaction, and with a tear in my eye I threw the plate into the bye-bye can, because in the end not even sriracha could save this dish.
I also ordered spring rolls which were tasty but nothing to write home about. I see alot of good reviews for this place, so all jokes aside I hope it was just a bad batch of food. This was my first meal here and I probably wont be returning, but I'll leave the extra star for the thai tea and good...
Read moreI used to eat lunch at Little Spice frequently when I worked nearby and it's always been my favorite Thai place in the area. After not having been there in a few years, I went recently and took my child, who can be a picky eater, for the first time. We've been to dozens of different Asian restaurants (Thai, Chinese, Japanese) all over the country and none have ever had a problem (or even hesitated) when we asked them to make chicken and broccoli that was steamed or fried without any sauce. The waitress at Little Spice said this was not possible to do. She seemed to indicate it wasn't that they wouldn't do it but that they couldn't for a reason I still don't understand. This made no sense to me. She suggested other dishes, but I didn't want to pay for a dish that I was pretty certain my child wouldn't eat. I asked if she would please ask the chef, just to make certain we couldn't be accommodated. She refused and was adamant that she knew it was not possible. I was so tempted to walk into the kitchen myself and ask, but of course I didn't. Frankly, we were very tempted to walk out. As usual, our other dishes were delicious, but it really put a damper on our meal that my child was only eating rice. Sad that Little Spice is not kid friendly. I hope they're more accommodating about other modifications, especially if food allergies...
