I checked in on Monday October 23rd. In Wednesday morning, October 25th, I woke up and noticed bites on my face and hands. As the day went on more bites appeared. I messaged the hotel to let them know I wanted to talk to them when I returned to the hotel that evening. I went back to the hotel that night and was told the messaging feature didn’t work. I showed them my bite marks and they called for another manager. They told me it would be a few minutes and that I could wait in m y room if I wanted. I told them I had not intentions of staying in that same room that evening. ||The manager came down and said that some people have reactions to the chemicals I the laundry detergent in the sheets. I made it clear these were bites. We went to the room where he met another facility worker who checked the room briefly. They didn’t find anything but said they would need to send in a team to fit her investigate. I told them I was clearly bit by something from the room and he continued to try to tell me it was laundry detergent. He told me they were preparing another on even though I was told earlier that the hotel was sold out. I asked if there was a place to launder my clothes. He told me I could go downstairs to the laundry facility. I asked the front desk fro directions to the laundry and she explained it was a coin laundry. They don’t even offer to pay to launder my clothes. I didn’t have change and needed to go to the atm to get money for the coins. I spent the evening laundering my clothes. The manger came and gave me my new keys and told me they would be removing some fees from my room. THIS NEVER HAPPENED. I was charged full rates for my whole stay when I received my bill.||The next morning I met Aaron Martin the Region Support manager in the elevator by chance who asked me about my stay. I shared my story and the extreme discomfort with all my bites, 18 at this point, swollen and itchy. They were on my face, hands, neck and fingers. All consistent with how I lay in my pillow. I shared that I am a Diamond member and I could not be allergic to their sheets. He walked me to the desk, took pictures of my bites, promised to call me and follow up with my compensation and seemed empathetic. I HAVE HEARD NOTHING FROM HIM OR ANYONE AT HIlton.||Thursday night I had to fly home. My bites were unbearable. When I landed I went straight to urgent care. I was diagnosed with an allergic reaction to bug bites. I had 19 visible bites at this point. They gave me a shot of Benadryl and Prednisone and sent me home with prescriptions for 5days. ||I called the hotel to speak with Mr. Martin on Friday, wrote emails to him and the hotel manager. I have not received any return calls or emails. My bill is still charged in full as I have not received any compensation for this terrible experience.||I do not recommend this hotel! I would like to hear from them and receive my compensation they...
Read moreMy stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Hanover Arundel Mills 7491 New Ridge Road, Hanover, MD. 21076 checking in July 2, 2021 through July 3, 2021 was not good. I came to town to town on this occasion to attend the funeral of a dear friend and missionary and to be present for a number of days following for a private, safe, socially distanced graduation celebration honoring two young men. The bathroom door to my room was broken and locked as a result after I placed my suit inside the restroom, turned the shower on to steam dry the suit and walked out the door not only closed but was stuck in the locked position. I contacted the front desk. I was informed that no maintenance person was on property or available. I was encouraged to try various methods to unlock the door. Over time a safety pin, screw driver and butter knife were brought to me as recommendations on tools to use to get the door open.
After a number of hours in the room with no access to the restroom even to utilize for it's primary purpose and no one arriving to help I was moved from room 333 to room 331.
Please note, the entire time the shower is running with hot water to steam my suit. I was eventually informed someone from maintenance would arrive at 8:00am, then 7:00am the next morning. The person arrived at the room after 9:00am. Eventually the door was unlocked. To dry my now well moistened suit I turned the AC unit on "cool". I placed the coat and vest on the back of a chair, placed the chair near the wall unit and let the suit dry as best it could before getting dressed and going to the funeral.
I did not go to sleep until well after 12:30am.
I have stayed in a number of Hilton properties over the past few months from Arizona to Ohio and now Maryland. I have never had an experience this bad before.
I am a Hilton Honors member. I share this in hope that nothing like this will happen to any other guest going forward. I was still charged for the room and offered no discount or other in kind anything. I did however receive an apology from two persons at the front desk.
Sincerely, Pastor...
Read moreI am horrified by the negligence of this hotel. I’m a frequent traveler staying an average of 4 nights per week in a Hilton property. I chose this due to the proximity of the rental car garage at BWI which is great.
Checked in on the app for an estimated arrival of 3pm. Received my digital key and thought I was good. I didn’t get in until 10pm due to traffic on 95, and stopped by the front desk to get physical key just in case mine had issues on my phone.
I go upstairs and enter my room and close the door. Then in complete darkness a FULL GROWN MAN comes out of the shadows. I’m 8 months pregnant and had a full panic attack and fell to the floor. I left as fast as I could and ran down to the front desk.
The guy who gave me the key didn’t seem to think it was a big deal. I’m fighting back tears as my safety was just completely disregarded and he asked if I wanted him to walk me to my new room. I said yes, he checked it and it was fine.
Never updated my digital key so I was stuck in this room (and honestly didn’t feel like leaving anyway). I barricaded the door with the bathroom door, my suitcase and their lounge chair because I was terrified they’d have someone come into my room.
I was told in the morning I could speak with a manager. Sure enough no manager was present. It’s been 6 hours since I left and no call, no message. Nothing.. just a $171 bill.
I will never ever stay here again and am removing this hotel from our company listing. Please do not put pregnant women in rooms with strange men! This is so dangerous!! I have everything documented and will be communicating with...
