Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Seymour

This particular location is the worst restaurant I've ever been to, hands down. Waitress took our order and that was the last time we saw her until we got our check. She never checked on us after getting our food, which was brought out by two different staff members who we also had to ask other wait staff for refills. Drinks were left at the bar, not once, but twice (nonalcoholic), I personally had to walk up and get them. They didn't bring all of the food for our 7 year old, he ordered the children's tacos, they left off all the toppings, I asked 3 separate staff members, including the bar staff and hostess, to get the rest of his food, before a fourth person finally brings a large leaf of lettuce and whole slices of tomato (for a sandwich not tacos) which apparently we were supposed to cut up to put on his tacos. Got the check (this was the first time seeing our waitress since taking our order btw), paid with my card, she brings back my card and receipt, I still tipped $5 for literally writing our order down then never coming back at all. Picks up the signed copy before we left, walks away, then brings it back and sits the receipt right in front of me like she was offended. I mean, I got our drinks and I got up several times to get our own food that was left off of the order and still brought to us wrong. I was attempting to write this review on their little handheld device on the table, and right at the end of finishing, the hand held device defaults back to the main screen. Even hearing the frustration in my tone and seeing it on my face I still did not make one open complaint, other than stating that we've asked several times for the full order of our 7yr old's food, I still stayed polite to the staff including our waitress, and trust me I wanted to make a my point known vocally. However, I do know that our frustration did not go unnoticed, but was still ignored. We absolutely will not be back, and most definitely will not recommend this restaurant to anyone we know. I might add that I'm not opposed to Applebees as a whole, this is literally about this location. I still list other Applebees as some of my favorite restaurants, because of the staff and quality of service. This particular location is severely lacking leadership and...

So service is very spotty at this Applebee's location, even more so since covid-19. When we walked in the hostess told us 15 minutes wait and there were 2 families ahead of us, one party of 3 and a party of 5 (2 littles one). After watching 3 tables of people finish and leave the hostess goes and cleans a table and seats the party of 3. This was about 15 minutes into our wait. Two more tables of people leave and nothing, after 30+ minutes she's asks the party of 5 if they are ok with a booth and then leaves to clean one for them, comes back and asks us if we are ok with a booth and proceeded to clean one for us as well. So we finally got seated about 35-40 minutes after we checked in. Immediately approached by a server who takes our drink order and when she brings them back takes our appetizers order and leaves us looking at the menu. She finally comes back and takes our order and the appetizers get to the table about 12 minutes after we ordered them (chips and dip). She does keep our drinks full at that point and brings our food out just as we are finishing the appetizers. The food was all hot and fresh and cooked properly. Also remember the restaurant is seated at less then 1/2 capacity so really not a lot of people in there. My individual ratings would be 5 out of 5 on the food, 4 out of 5 on the server but only about a 2 on the hostess. I also overheard the servers complaining that she wasn't seating their empty seats in a timely fashion. Had the bourbon street chicken and shrimp, awesome as always, with mashed potatoes and a side if onion rings and a Caesar salad. The daughter had the Fiesta lime chicken with rice and said it was very good. We had the queso and chips and spinach artichoke dip with chips, both great. If your in a hurry don't go here, if you have time you'll probably enjoy the food. Sorry no pictures this time, I was too...

My daughter, her boyfriend & I stopped here on the last leg of an extremely long, emotional day. All 3 of us were in different places mentally, emotionally & we were all at varying degrees of hunger with my daughter having reached "hAngry!!!" several miles before our overloaded Suburban finally came to a crooked stop at this family feel good spot where we knew we'd all be taken care of....regardless of our needs. Ethan Leone was or server....yes I asked his middle name--my oldest son is an Ethan too & god knows i can't contain my curiosity at times. He was polite, laid back & attentive to our needs tho bus attention to bill detail breeds improvement & it seemed to take him awhile when asked for specific extras. Understandably, he was serving more tables than just ours....and it was evident most of the staff had already been cut for the night. Our food was EXCELLENT & Ethan went out of his way to make sure I got what I wanted even tho it wasn't on the 2 for 30 menu. I did notice, however, that no manager was visible at any time on the floor checking guest satisfaction like at other locations. We had zero complaints so this was not a pressing issue for us...Ethan promptly fixed the errors on our check and my daughter left a $21 tip. Being the daughter of an ex waitress she understands what the demands are & knows that the service you receive will make or break your experience no matter how great/horrible the food may be.
