Walking into Larrison’s Diner is like stepping into a culinary time machine. The moment those doors swing open, you’re hit with the unmistakable, glorious aroma of grilled onions sizzling on a flat-top griddle that’s probably seen more action than a 1970s bowling alley. It’s like they’ve bottled up the scent of happiness and sprayed it all over the diner.
Let me tell you about the burgers. These aren’t just burgers—they’re life events. They’re thick, juicy, and grilled to perfection, with edges that are just a little crispy from the griddle, like a delicious burger halo. Each bite is a savory explosion of beefy goodness, perfectly paired with caramelized onions that could bring a grown man to tears. You don’t just eat these burgers; you experience them.
The fries? Absolute legends. They’re golden, crispy, and the perfect sidekick to the burger superhero. They even have that slight diner grease sheen that lets you know they’ve been fried with love (and maybe a little butter because why not?).
And the vibe? Pure small-town charm. Larrison’s feels like the kind of place where you’d expect to find someone named Doris pouring coffee and calling you “hon.” The walls are lined with little pieces of history, the booths are that perfect shade of retro red, and the hum of conversation in the air makes you feel like you’re part of something special.
The staff here are pros. They’re not just servers—they’re food matchmakers. If you’re unsure what to get, they’ll steer you in the right direction. They’re fast, friendly, and somehow manage to refill your drink before you even realize it’s empty.
Now, back to the food because, honestly, it deserves a second round of praise. I swear, they’ve got some kind of burger wizard back there flipping patties like it’s their destiny. And the grilled onions? They’re not just a topping; they’re a way of life.
Larrison’s Diner isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to belong. It’s where you go to find the kind of meal that sticks with you, the kind that makes you smile every time you think about it. And if you haven’t been here yet, drop what you’re doing, get in your car, and prepare to have your taste buds changed forever.
P.S. If you’re reading this while hungry, I’m sorry. Just know that Larrison’s is waiting for you, and the grill is...
Read moreWe went in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food is cooked right in front of the counter! It's a family ran business for 50 years. Hamburgers with cooked onions with hand cut fries(had some of the longest fries I've ever seen) that are so so good! Kathy was our server. She was very helpful with our ordering(even tho they were so busy) decisions. We are so grateful for her suggestions for lunch and for her taking the time she didn't have to help us. She will definitely be our server everytime!!!! It's an old time diner, very nostalgic and with vintage pictures on the wall. Liz larrison(owner) was right up front on the grill just cooking away. They still make milkshakes the old fashioned way too!! They are always busy but it's worth walking thru that door!!! They close everyday at 2pm so if your hungry, get on in there before they close. It's a definite must stop for anyone traveling on interstate 65 exit...
Read moreIt's all about the history going way back to the '50's. A Seymour tradition-Larrisons is best known for their cheeseburgers and fresh cut fries. The aroma of grilled onions creates an appetizing aroma that invites you to order your burger "with" and you wont be disappointed. The ground beef is fresh, or you may opt for a bison burger for those who are so inclined. Larrisons also features delicious hand made shakes and malts served in a stainless steel tumbler just as in the "good old days". The menu features daily plate lunch specials, soups and sandwiches catering to the lunch time crowd. Also, breakfast at Larrisons includes the traditional eggs, bacon, etc. My favorite is an order of biscuits and gravy and a side of bacon. Price is a little high, but if you are in the area you have to go to Larrisons to get a flavor of Seymour. From the mayor to Mellencamp-you just never know who you...
