My one star review is based on my experience with the General Manager alone, I would give zero stars if I had the opportunity.
I had the displeasure of ordering take out a week ago. I paid for my order with cash- you know, since it’s actually still currency. No problems until I get back to home and realize that I’m missing side sauces I paid extra for. Not the biggest deal in the world but I digress. I give them a call not only for the missing sauces but having tried my food to see how stale my side order of fries are and the chips that accompanied the Buffalo chicken dip. Everything I had ordered was lackluster.
Being a long time participant in the serving industry, I can understand that especially on a Friday, guests flood in quickly. I called in and gave the girl my number for the manager to get back to me in regard to my inconveniences. Nobody returned my call.
Fast forward to now, I called the restaurant being in the area again and immediately requested a manager. A man named Neil who presented himself as the General Manager gets on the line. I respectfully and politely explained the situation to which he followed by making the insinuation that I could be possibly lying especially considering there was no paper trail as I paid with cash. I always give respect but the second I can see when someone becomes disrespectful with me, I don’t take kindly to it. I expressed to him that I have absolutely zero reason to be dishonest about placing an order that was just plain awful and I’d appreciate it if they could make it right. I didn’t request my money back, which I usually would do, I placed a new order. He argued that there is always a manager on duty and had I actually called that day expressing my concerns it would have been taken care of appropriately and for future reference if my food comes out bad this time then “this isn’t the restaurant for me”. Totally inappropriate comment to make to a guest. I said, well it clearly wasn’t otherwise I wouldn’t be calling now. I overlooked his second comment. He then took my order.
Coming to pick up my order, the take out employee gave me a total to which I was confused. I was under the impression that this was being taken care of. I know this isn’t her fault and I genuinely apologized to her but if she could grab Neil so I can rectify the situation. He came out practically guns a blazing ready for a war. The way this man spoke so condescendingly to me I was absolutely appalled. We went back and forth and I proceeded to inquire about an owner. He told me he was it and to take my food and leave.
As someone who’s been in the restaurant industry, I have never seen a GM speak to any guest in such a disrespectful manner. I’m not quite sure how you still have a running restaurant considering food quality AND poor management but good luck for their future. Do better in reference to guests and the way they...
Read moreI came to town to meet my son for a hockey tournament. The first night (Friday) was on my own, and my hotel was right across the street from Mick Morgan's. I had a nice dinner. The server was attentive, and the food was decent enough. The molten chocolate cake ala mode was YUMMY.
Two nights later (tonight - Sunday), I returned with my son for dinner. We were seated right away. To the left as you walk in.... a line of tables opposite of the bar. There is a row of tables between us and the bar.
And, then.... we waited... and waited. No server stopped at our table, though several went past us. The place was busy, but it wasn't slammed. We waited. At the 10 minute mark (yes, timed it), a couple was seated a few tables over (with two empty tables between us). Their server was at their table within one minute. So, I figured 10 minutes was more than enough, and I went to the hostess to let her know. "I'll get someone there right away." OK.
Five MORE minutes later, STILL nobody had even acknowledged our presence, despite more servers hurriedly going past us. Not even eye contact. My son was hungry and thirsty. We gave up. On our way out, I let the hostess and the manager (I think) know what I thought. The word I used was "PATHETIC," because I'm a "nice guy." The expression on their faces was.... bewildered.
We ended up at Clyde's instead. There aren't a lot of restaurants in the immediate area, so I believe I was rather generous in allowing FIFTEEN minutes without a server at least stopping and saying, "I got slammed (they weren't slammed), can I get your drink order, and I'll be right back?" I've worked as a server. It's not difficult to at least ACKNOWLEDGE the customers' presence.
You dropped the ball, BIG TIME, Mick Morgan's. I'd give you one star, but I really did like the molten lava cake from two nights previous (Friday) and that server was very attentive (it was also BUSIER). ...
Read moreThis is my 2nd bad review...I called 2 weeks ago and said I got an order of chicken tenders $17.99 an order...well the chicken tenders were not fresh and seemed to be sitting there and what they do is give you mostly old chicken tenders with 1 or 2 fresh ones on top...so this happened several times...so I called the 3rd time to complain..and they said they would give me a refund...so next day I get a call from NEIL to call him abt the refund...so forgot to call Neil until today...I HAVE NEVER BEEN SPOKEN TOO SO POORLY...I MEAN REAL *HOLE. AND HE IS THE GM...he 1st said he didn't remember finally after 5 minutes he remembered and then was like I don't have time..check your bank acct....I'm just getting settled for day and he said maybe you shouldn't order from here if our tenders are bad..He also claimed that I probably picked them up later or got late thru delivery service..my husband orders in parking lot and picks up hot food.....WOW well he just did me a favor...I will never order again from mick morgans...ya know Neil you should just learn to talk nice to women....arrogant...businesses like yours goes out of business all the time.. Going to try to talk to owner since Neil can't handle a simple customer service issue
Called to reserve back area and said no reservations...well we come here often and spend a lot of money...we showed up 15 mins before and there was a party already seated...so there were 12 of us waiting to be seated together...the place was jammed...we probably waited and hour...but where else do you go with a 12 person party...The food was great...drinks slow and for a packed place I watched a manager standing around...while other workers were working hard...next time I think we find a place that will take a 12 person party reservation...our bill was well...
