I have visited Shaver Lake with my family for over ten years, and we enjoy the many activities and places to shop and eat around the lake. One of our regular eating spots is Shaver Lake Pizza. This location has that local, small-town feeling, with a small dining area and a few tables to enjoy your meal. The majority of visitors order for take-out. In the last few times, we have been able to call in our orders with a 20-30 minute pick-up time. When it gets busy, orders will take longer, naturally. A few of our favorites are the pepperoni pizza, Shaver combo pizza, Hawaiian pizza, veggie pizza, buffalo wings (the sizes of the wings fluctuate, unfortunately), potato skins, and salads. Sandwiches, desserts, drinks, beers on tap, and more are also available! Now, is this the best pizza ever?! No, but they are consistent and will satisfy your pizza needs, and we look forward to eating here every year. The staff has been hardworking and pleasant for the most part. There is always a friendly atmosphere, even during busy moments. Courtesy goes a long way for staff and guests.

Went there on 9/21/19 at night. Was greeted by a very nice guy. Bought a cheesy bread, shaver deluxe pizza, and 12 buffalo wings. The place looked nice, customer service was there, and for the small kitchen they had, the food was flowing out in waves. They even warned me of the long wait time like others had mentioned. Cool. Got the cheesy bread, it was really tasty! Couldn't wait for the pizza to get there. Then came the buffalo wings. They were all drumettes. Not a problem. They looked funny though. Super swollen. When we bit into them, they tasted like they were boiled and they had a lot of skin on them. Typically you either fry them all the way or put them in the oven and then fry them. They were terrible. Then the pizza came and I was excited again. Toppings looked great. I looked at my 3 year old and he was yelling that it was spicy. I asked a young lady with black hair, glasses, blue eyes, and wore a red "crew" shirt of the restaurant if the toppings were spicy on the supreme and she stated yes. The pepperoni and the sausage. I let her know it didn't state that on the menu or I would not have gotten it because my 3 year old and 5 year old can't handle spicy food. She could have said she would re-fire one without the spicy toppings or even a sorry and screw off would have been great. Instead, she told me: "My step father is Mexican and we had to eat spicy food." What the heck does that mean? I am very sorry for your childhood food experiences, but why are you using that as an excuse for my family? I didn't want to believe the other reviews of the statements like "the Californian is a bland pizza," but now I totally believe it. So weird. I love spicy food and the pizza was a 4 or 5 out of 10 at best. I would definitely bypass this place and try somewhere else. The two stars is for the rest of the nice and...

The pizza is delicious—4 stars. Service—2 stars. Don’t expect to order pizza by phone (you will only get a busy signal) or eat in if they are 30 minutes within closing time. AND, if they are 15 minutes within closing time—even if you have a carry out order, don’t expect to get a beer while you are waiting.

The service needs a little bit of work. This past Friday at 8:35 pm, we tried to order a pizza over the phone But continued to get a busy signal. We decided to just go in person to order and we made it in time (approximately 8:45) before 9:00 closing to order the pizza as a ā€œto go.ā€ One of the members of our group asked if she could order a beer while we were waiting. She was told, ā€œNo. We don’t have any.ā€ There was clearly beer in the cooler. When she asked about it, he relied, ā€œWe have already made last call.ā€ 🤨 I also informed him that we would have called ahead but we kept getting a busy signal, to which he replied, ā€œOh yeah, the phone is off the hook.ā€

So, the four of us stood there awkwardly for 15 minutes while the crew did their end of the day cleaning. I can assume why the phone was off the hook, but I not sure why my friend couldn’t get one beer while we were standing and waiting so they could clean...
