Luigiās is a very nice, updated, modern, restaurant. Best dining option by far in the Shawano area. Menu offers many diverse selections for both dinner and lunch. Large dining room plus a spacious Sports Bar for those that desire a great Vibe. Most servers/Bartenders are friendly and do a great job.(The middle age Blonde server that has been there a long time is a very good server but is the least personable and friendly). Food offerings: 1. Pizzas are good. Toppings are high quality, fresh and tasty. Their house thin crust is just ok. Lacks flavor and is never crisp except on the outside pieces. Thankfully, the high quality toppings still make the pizza better than most you get. Their Seafood Alfredo Pasta entree is a āHome Runā. Made to order and as good as you will find. They offer some excellent Salmon features. Sea Blue salad a must have if you like shrimp. The Prime Rib(when available) is excellent. Roasted in house and very well seasoned! Stay away from the Walleye, until they actually serve real Walleye. Burgers are not good. Poor quality, small(usually overcooked because too thin) and dry. People love burgers. Serve great burgers or take them off the menu. They have several Hot sandwich selections that are quite good. Only thing that would make every one of them better is a higher quality bun, such as an artisan roll that would handle the heat better when baked. Yes, it would cost a little more, but would be well worth it. Desserts are made on premise and are unique and well done. One thing that is disappointing are the breads served with dinners, salads etc. Breads in most Italian restaurants are a highlight. None are homemade as you would hope. The house bread loaf is terrible and basically turns into a pile of crumbs when you try to slice it. Itās the worst House bread we have ever been served anywhere. Breadsticks are only slightly better but just a parbaked inexpensive breadstick that they heat and serve in the pizza oven. Folks, I get that with your volume making homemade bread isnāt feasible. But, there are many fantastic options for you to choose from, but of course more costly. Customers will appreciate the higher quality and will happily pay for it. As with most restaurants, there is normally things they could improve. But, Luigiās overall does a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been coming to Luigi's as a family since they opened back in the mid 90s. Our family has a lakehouse on Legend Lake, and Luigi's is a staple of our experiences over the years we have been on the lake.
There are well over 30 of us (some might say too many!) that have enjoyed growing up here, having pizza, drinking beers and enjoying the service. I still remember the days before the awesome patio and even the beautiful bar.
Some of my best memories are at this restaurant -- playing the Newlywed Game as we wait for our food to arrive, using the arcade machines, making friends with the serving staff and bartenders, always relying on the Spotted Cow on draft to kick off our lake weekends.
This is my favorite restaurant of all time, mostly because of my memories and good times we have shared here, and that's because they keep their restaurant clean, they keep their food delicious, they keep their prices affordable, they keep their staff friendly, and they make you feel like you are part of the family.
Love it, thank you for all the memories over the years, and keep...
