Read moreNow this is an honest review. Let me start by saying the building looks amazing they did a very good job keeping it looking good and keeping the memories people shared within the building. It’s a historical place for shawano and they did amazing. For beers. They have a selection for most tastes. It’s not a place you come to get drunk like a dive bar. It’s a place for craft beer tasting. Prices are a bit steep but that comes with the territory of beer tasting. Now let’s get down to the bad. It was the food. Now I’m not saying everything they have was bad it’s just what I had. I had burgers. First time was during opening. So I got my burger do believe it was the bbq one. It was bland dry and tasteless with no sauce at all. At 15 bucks I was so shocked because I had really high hopes for it. Wings didn’t have enough sauce on them but they are of good size and are pretty good. Just have to ask for extra sauce. So all in all I waited about a month seeing it was the first day and wanted to give it a second try to see if they worked out the kinks. So I go back and order a burger again this time with Mac and cheese and by the way that’s actually really good I must say. The food came out in a timely manner and the staff did good on seeing if I needed anything but low and be hold. The same burger. Tasteless and dry. I was very disappointed hoping they worked it out. I can’t say this for all of the menu but for the high prices they have I’m expecting a mouth watering experience. I can get a better burger for less at Hardee’s. Hell I can grill a mean burger that people love in my backyard for way less. I really had high hopes for this place. But for the money and quality of food I don’t see it surviving In shawano unless they sell brew all over the USA. I don’t know if they have a star chef but if they do they need one who can actually make food. I’d love to come back and try it again but I’m not going to spend top dollar for something I can get better off of the pick two from McDonald’s. I wish this...
Read moreIt's a little bit more expensive than some places, but it's not the most expensive. The food is amazing. This place has some of the best brews in Wisconsin. The atmosphere is totally awesome. It has its own Park, live music, theater house, its own brewery, electric car friendly, All around down to earth owner who makes sure everybody is happy and works shoulder to shoulder with his employees. I overheard him talking to someone about loving McMenamins! Kina wants to build his business to be like them. I'm sure there's better ways to say that, but I have no idea right? Offhand. As a person who has lived in Oregon for 2 years and been to these restaurants. McMenamins and various other places hands down buddy, You have blown them out of the water. First of all, your business model is way better!! "Congratulations!!" And the Midwest food is literally the best in the country. I have eaten and drank no better than right here. We all know how to cook. The West Coast can't even make donuts right? (Voodoo donuts downtown Portland was the closest I can get to Midwest quality, the rest of the bakeries for some reason made their donuts really dry) They don't even know about cherry rosebuds (it's like an apple fritter) of which you can get at festival. 3 things from the West Coast I wish were here. Peanut butter pickle Burger from killer Burger Truffle oil fries, fry them up dump in bowl mix truffle oil some salt. Simple street tacos carne asada, Cilantro, key limes. With a side Pico de gallo, Black bean and roasted corn mixture, avocado, red&green salsa. Bonus: tamales They sell for about $2.50 a piece at (Alegria Mexicana, Wisconsin Ave.) Handmade...
