I called 2 days ahead to be sure they had gluten free options. This was our only option on Christmas Day, the kids were set on going but I have celiac disease and cannot have gluten. The staff assured me they have gluten free options. The day arrives and we get there, sat down, kids got their plates, I waited for the attention of the staff, to get a menu and order. She came back and I’d start to talk to her, she’d jet off to make sure everyone had drinks filled around us, throughout the restaurant. Meanwhile everyone’s eating and I’m still sitting there, hungry. I finally just go and talk the boy at the front desk, he told me to just take a menu from near the front door. So I look at it and wait. I try getting her attention again. Finally she stops long enough and goes and grabs a younger boy. Who also walks away and grabs the chef. I asked him if I can have gluten free kung pao chicken. He says yes, they’ll use gluten free soy sauce. Then talks me into following him to the buffet … offers me Chili checkin instead, because it’s “better”, but it is breaded. So I asked what it’s breaded with, he responded that he uses flour. Flour has gluten. I tell him, again that I can’t have that and he takes me over to the Teriyaki, which after I ask, he informs me that it was made with regular Soy sauce, which also contains gluten. The chef clearly doesn’t know what gluten is. Finally I just say “never mind”. Sit down and when the lady comes back, I try to inform her that I tried to order from the chef but he tried to talk me into the items on the buffet instead, which I can’t have. So she says “okay so only 3 buffet” runs off and brings our ticket and cookies. Even more frustrated now and much more hungry, I said “I’m telling you because I would like to order, as I’ve tried to do already” and she again gets the boy, who gets the chef. Finally he agrees to make the chicken I asked about, “gluten free”….My daughter said “no flour? No soy sauce? No wheat” he says “uh huh uh huh”. Well I had a few bites and now I’m home in bed, my stomach is in so much pain and it has ballooned up, I have extreme fatigue with all over body aches, brain fog etc. I’m miserable. I have Celiac. Gluten is literally poison. What a way to spend the holiday. Especially after paying as much as I did and was ignored as I was, not to mentioned lied to about the gluten free options, when they don’t actually know what gluten is. People in the food industry should be more aware. People in general should. Going out to eat give’s me tremendous anxiety because people do not know what gluten is, they do not understand the seriousness of it or of cross contamination. It’s not a fad diet. It’s a legit disease. Cooking a big meal is not easy, due to my health. I thought this would be a better option and Chinese has been our family tradition Christmas Day. Unfortunately, as I said, people in the food industry that SHOULD have knowledge about gluten….. DON’T. There won’t be a next time for me. This will take weeks, if not months to settle down and leave my system. This is causing damage, that will take a long time to heal. It wasn’t even worth...

Read moreLet me start by saying that I really do not love buffets. So please take that into consideration when you read this review. For you, this may be a pure five-star experience. But for me.... unfortunately... not so much. The staff was really great, super-attentive and very helpful. We were welcomed right away, and my drink was never less than half-full. The buffet itself was very clean, but could have been fresher. Some of the food was way past time for replacement. But for the most part, it looked very appetizing and well-kept. The fried rice was spot-on delicious, and the egg-drop soup was pretty good too. The egg rolls were past their prime, and were too tough to chew. I had the broccoli beef, which was pretty good, with tender strips of beef in perfectly firm broccoli. I passed on the fried foods, as they looked to be the most in need of replacement, but the sushi was decent, so I basically filled up on it and the fried rice. The dessert selections were less than perfect, but I still tried the canned chocolate pudding and tapioca. They also had an ice cream machine, and other little cakes and fresh(ish) fruit. It was only $25 for both of us, so definitely a good value for the money. Definitely worth giving it a try, if for nothing else than the fried rice and...
