Moved to Shawnee a few months ago and we really love sombreros the first few times we had it but lately we haven’t been happy with the customer service. Trying to find their online menu is a nightmare (not clearly listed), even though their hours are posted online they aren’t always true. Showed up one evening to enjoy dinner and they were closed even though online it said open. Then in a Sunday during a chiefs game (which I understand is busy) around 6:39pm but we called at least 15 times with no answer- then someone finally answers and says “we closed early at 5 pm due to the game”. I do understand if you’re short staffed (I’ve worked in food service and understand) but wouldn’t that be a time to be open if you have the staff because you would make a huge profit?! Keep in mind we ordered dinner the previous week during a chiefs game and they were open for their normal hours.

Please get a social media so that you can make this known instead of making customers call over and over again just to find out you’re not open. Very frustrating!!!! They definitely lost us...

Plain salsa, bland rice, but good Queso dip when it’s not in your lap. Nice decor, decent music, lots of TVs, and an entire staff of high school kids.

We were seated right away and were served a generous helping of salsa and chips. Unfortunately the salsa was terrible. It is entirely too runny and flavorless. So we ordered the Queso dip and after the high school kitchen helper spilled half of it on my partners leg we enjoyed what was left. It was actually quite good and had some spice to it unlike the bland salsa. We gave the hot salsa a chance and it was equally as flavorless although it was definitely spicy. And if you were wondering if we got the dip compensated we didn’t - just a half hearted sorry.

The chicken and fajitas portions were standard. The Mexican rice tasted like the salsa which is to say it tasted like they put in the fake taco mix and called it a day. At least the bathrooms were clean, but I don’t think I would recommend this place...

I sat at rlthe bar with my spouse and daughter. I ordered a marg on the rocks. It tasted okay-ish. But looks like PISS. I asked and the bartender whom told me that their mix is secret and if I don't like it then I have bad taste. Worst looking drink ever. For food, I ordered a Fajita Chicken Quesadilla. It was easily the worst food I have ever been served at any sit-down restaurant; no exaggeration. They basically served a massive handful of peppers and onions with a tiny bit of chicken, and a tiny bit of cheese. After one bite, I pushed my plate forward. I waited 5....10...15 minutes for the bartender to ask if something was wrong or whatever. Nothing. Nada. She, bartender, did have time to talk about going to jail, and other like items with the old couple next to us, but ni time to check-in on us since food was served. .....yeah great place. Keep your family and your wallet away...

I came here once before and I wasn’t impressed. I went back today with my mom and grandparents who have never been. It was FANTASTIC! We had the fajitas and they were great! Steak was a little tough but overall pretty good! We also had sopapillas and they were amazing! But the best part overall was our service. Mandy was our server. She was the only one on the floor and did phenomenal. Our drinks never went empty, she was on top of all of the food getting ordered. She asked me if I wanted to order my sons food ahead of ours which never happens and his food came out so quick and he loved it. She was so attentive and had multiple other tables but she did great! She even took the time to interact with my son and gave him quarters for candy. Will be back because of her!

Three "mix and match" street tacos (barbacoa, chicken tinga, el pastor) and a chicken chimichanga (not pictured) ordered for takeout, plus a $5 Happy Hour house margarita (on tap) while waiting for food to be prepared, which did take a spell (20 minutes). Takeout included complementary chips and salsa too. Food was solid. The staff here were fantastic, kind and attentive, especially for how busy it was. Quite a full house on a Tuesday night, but according to one of the regulars it's normally even busier. It was a pleasant experience and definitely a place I'd enjoy coming back to for lunch or dinner after camping out at the library across the street.
